In the middle of bumfuck nowhere ? I highly doubt it . And what the hell is an SF unit doing inserting in a civilian area in daylight to be Id'd? . What about sympathisers in the population whou would actually be educated to recognize military units .

IMO this is about a leaking bureacracy and police force trying to earn brownie points with media. It also shows the severe limitations at a civilian-milotary strategic control level I'm employing SF units . They are simply being used as door kickers. Cant a ghatak unit do the above ?
News channels were broadcasting helicopter insertion of 21 Para SF inside Manas National Park. General populace in insurgency-hit areas know which unit is operating. It is part of survival :biggrin2:. Here young people of my age can get picked up by Army for questioning based on mere suspicion. Only by pulling strings can one get out of it.

Last year. It was broadcasted in a local Assamese channel. They were looking for a senior NDFB-S commander inside Manas National Park. Manas was a safe haven (still is) for militants, due to its porous border with Bhutan, which has Royal Manas National Park on its side.

Just can’t comprehend how these guys can still have such crappy equipment after all these years. You actually see Ghataks with better and more standardised equipment.

Appalling lack of professionalism by those who are meant to be “elite”

Do not judge them from the looks. Looks do not kill Jihadis.

Looks don’t kill but equipment does. Those pictures show poorly equipped force. Body armor is inadequate. Knee and elbow pads are missing. No tactical gloves. No eye protection.
On bigger note: look at poor infrastructure all around. India has a long way to go.

Swamy is one of the most poisonous snakes, if not the most poisonous, in Indian politics. His only goal is the protection of his own interests. I would be wary of him and his cronies intentions if I were of any importance. Anyways, this is not the right thread for this discussion. Tag me on the Political thread if you want to continue the discussion.
A likely Chinese puppet too. His love of the Chinese, and constant suggestion of things that would be in China's interest are incredibly suspicious (has often visited there and speaks Mandarin too).

There's a reason him and Rajapaksa get along so well.
