(1) This was during AR exhibition . Some AR Ghatak platoons do use Tavors in limited numbers just like IA Ghataks. But not sure about this female soldier being issued with Tavor. May be for exhibition only.

(2) Talking about the kit , this helmet is one of those 50000 out of total 1.58 lakh which were ordered with integrated communication . As AR battalions are commanded by IA officers some helmets were given to AR .
One more thing MHA had ordered separate helmets for all CAPFs. Some pics of them in AR service.
View attachment 29906 View attachment 29907
These are slightly different than Army's Helmets and I don't know the manufacturer.

(3) Talking about the vest then AR has range of tactical vests and BPJs but this PC below being the same issued to IA , SF , paratroopers & AR

In service with IA

In service with AR

The one in the FAB AK pic is just a tactical vest not a BPJ , BP vest or a plate carrier.
1) Are women in AR serving with Ghatak units?

2) Are there EXFIL helmets only for the pointman in the squad?

3) Are X 95s now being issued to Ghataks? AFAIK they were for paramilitary and police swat units primarily.

Thanks for your time bro. You're a real MVP among us military nerds. :hail:

(1) No I don't think AR has any woman in combat role. May be in supporting role.
(2) I am trying to get more information about EXFIL Helmets. My friend posted along LOC said that Ghatak unit of every Battalion posted along LOC has received 5 pieces each. Now how to distribute those depends on the battalion. Because I have seen EXFIL with 4 different battalions and every time numbers were different.
(3) Yes some battalions have issued X95s , Tavors & M4s for Ghataks in limited numbers ( GARHWAL RIF , JAKLI , PUNJAB , 42 RR , 34 RR confirmed with pictures) .
Recently we have also seen SSG 69 in service with few IA Ghatak Platoons. There can be many more things along LOC which we don't know. Army Commanders can buy a lot of things within their financial powers.

This is probably from MKU. As an exhibition. Bcoz Ghatak from Assam Rifles:

No it wasn’t from MKU, this was seen at the AR’s own stand at the 2018 Manipur Sanghi Festival.

It is odd that there is a female holding a TAR-21. Whilst women are in AR they aren’t in combat roles and 2) TAR-21s have hitherto been seen ONLY with SF units. Anyone else wanting a Tavor in India has got the X95- even Ghataks.

So it’s hard to explain what’s going on here but you can rest assured that this is an Indian Army officer and this IS Indian army kit- I particularly like seeing the integrated comns set with PTT feature, MKU have been given this order but to date hadn’t seen any in service or even a model of one.

one more Indian SOF video ,this is made by a foreigner I think, and its made up of clips I already saw in previous videos and documentaries. Music sucks I mean really bad ,and they could have added a little more from surgically strike documentary the one scene in which the guy lays back while firing and also that RPG while hanging from rope.
The music is painfully bad but the visuals and syncing are decent

How is the lady an Army Officer? This is an AR Pavilion after all?

Bingo found the AR Pavilion. It indeed has a Tavor 21 on display. Looks like a weapons familiarisation copy.

They are in direct combat roles? In Ghatak units? Doesn't AR fall under purview of IA and Gen. Rawat said that Indian Army has no need for women in CR?

https://newsroompost.com/featured-5...manent-commission-gen-bipin-rawat/417345.html

Only women offices in AR are of no.s 3 to raise women's battalion for peacekeeping duties.

A "Surgical Strike" Unit To Fight Behind Enemy Lines: Government Sources

The new commando group will have soldiers from the special forces of the Air Force, the Navy and the Army -- Garuds, Marcos and Para, respectively, for conducting surgical strikes

The government is planning to set up a "surgical strike" force comprising the best soldiers drawn from the three branches of the military, a senior government official told NDTV. This special unit will conduct surprise precision strikes deep inside enemy territory, inflicting maximum damage in the shortest possible time and leave the battle area swiftly, similar to the operation carried out by the country's special forces on seven terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control in September 2016.

"The government feels it needs a special group with enhanced capabilities, so a unit having the best from all the three (branches of the armed forces) is being created," said the official, who asked not to be named.

The new commando group will have soldiers from the special forces of the Air Force, the Navy and the Army -- Garuds, Marcos and Paras, respectively. These battle-hardened soldiers whose skills are comparable to the US Navy Seals can operate in different terrain, from jungles and mountains to maritime environment.

The new unit will come under the direct control of the Army chief, the official said. "It will have two groups -- planning and assault," he said.

The government has chosen 96 members for the planning group, and 124 for the assault group.

The assault group is further divided into two sub-units -- as is the practice in all special force units of the world -- namely, attack and support units to ensure smooth deployment and seamless coordination.

The unit is the brainchild of National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, a senior officer of the National Security Council said. "A note pertaining to it has been sent to the cabinet committee," he said. "Threats from air and sea are multiplying every day, so in the times to come we need to be prepared, that's why this unit is being created," he said.

The soldiers in the attack unit, apart from having top fighting skills, will know specialised field craft such as reading hi-tech maps and coordinating with air support, which the unit will eventually get. The support group will have soldiers who have local knowledge of the target area and can provide intelligence inputs to the assault unit.

"It's going to a cohesive unit. Those who have expertise in CI-ops (counter-insurgency) will be engaged in this group," the official said.

For now, the government plans to use any suitable infrastructure to maintain the new special force, whose name is not yet known. It will eventually allocate a separate budget for this group.

Regular infiltration attempts and ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces are the other reasons why this force is being set up. "It's also a part of psychological warfare tactics to put hostile neighbours under stress," the official said.

The Unsung Tale of Indian Army’s ‘Cartoos Sahib’ Who Chopped Off His Own Leg During Battle!
124 might be too less
At least One Full Battalion is Necessary
reading "between the lines" and amply projecting my own wishes and wants:

IMO the 124 number is perfect. it breaks down to almost 10 Squads (at 12 a Squad) - That's 2 Squadrons of 5 Squads Each. (1 active duty, 1 QRT + training)

IMO The support members will not be any less trained or important. They are providing Recce and Overwatch.

Keep in mind if the Govt do it right. It will take min 2-3 years to get this unit Operational to reach its "IOC". Selection, Retraining, Uptraining and Kitting.

Post the 3 years then they will have another 3-4 years of Deployment where usage, tactics, etc will be refined and reworked. At a Strategic level CS, Mil HQ, MOD will all need time to experiment to get the best out of this unit and also define its tasking

The whole point of these 124 gents should be to be able to accomplish the work of a Brigade.

They will need the Money, Infra and Political Backing to achieve their profficiency.

Any Expansion will ONLY take place over time.
