I heard that the second one is actually airsoft gear. Which is very common in NE states. Same helmets were seen with Mizo Police Commandos. But later found out be airsoft gear. And this is not the M4 variant PARA SF is using. They are using SOMPOD Block I variant of M4A1.
Plzz post FAST helmet pics if u have them...........

The latest bullet proof jacket ordered by Army have ceramic inserts
Ceramic armour is almost 50 % lighter than Steel armour and hss better stopping capability
The helmets that hsve been ordered by the army ot in use are made of composite fibre which cannot stop a direct hit by an AK 47 bullet let alone 7.62*51 bullets
Ceramic helmets or rather helmets with ceramic inserts are being introduced with various forces all over the world and we in India should also provide such ceramic helmets to our armed forces for better protection
I understand that ceramic armour is being made in India so it will be a make in India project without any imports

Could you share an example of such a helmet? - With inserts

Most Combat Helmets are Level I only. Level III protection helmets get bulky and heavy and the cost benefit between Size / Weight / Protection makes most armies chose Level I protection.

And Considering this is a SOF thread - they will be even more inclined to go for the lightest helmets they can possiblly use.

I always wondered how Para SF deployment in Ops take place. There are different SF battalions. Each command of Indian Army has atleast two SF battalions under its command. Each unit has its headquarters and SF men are deployed to various areas of responsibility in company size rather than whole battalion (please correct me if I am wrong). Consider this scenario let's say there's an intel that an HVT is present in a location XYZ, somewhere in Kashmir valley. His presence is alerted to the nearest Rashtriya Rifles company base. RR dispatches its QRT and also requests presence of J&K Police and Paramilitary forces. But situation demands presence of SF and the CO requires it urgently. My question is who requests for SF intervention ? Definitely dispatching the SF requires prior permission of the CO of SF unit. Is it the CO of the RR unit that requests directly to the CO of SF unit or is it someone higher up (like sector commander, force commander, corps commander, GOC-in-C Northern Command, etc). Your inputs are welcome.

From what I know is that the person who requires (in this case the CO of RR) the support of Para SF will make a request to the command HQ and then the command HQ dispatches them. They are placed under the person who will lead the operation.
