Yes true...
It's like NSG(Delhi HUB) is better equipped than NSG Mumbai hub
View attachment 22849 Nsg during R-Day , Delhi
The best equipped are the main CT task force (based at Palam), the Hubs seem to have a lower quality of gear that’s for sure, the worst being the Kolkata hub.

What is with these crappy helmets? Those ACH with rails should be standard for NSG or if they need ultra light weight they should get upper cut FAST style helmets, seeing these crappy helmets on the premier CT unit of India is PATHETIC.

+ what does “11” mean (written on front of the Sherpa)? In other pics we have seen “51” written on the NSG vehicles to denote 51 SAG, is there a 11 SAG/SRG?

There are three SRGs – 11, 12 and 13.Initially SRG's mandate was to render logistical support to the SAGs during operations and are deployed for guarding high-risk VIPs/VVIPs. However, Since 2013, 11 SRG is converted into a regular SAG unit for undertaking specific counter-terror operations.

Interesting, so these are 11 SRG, are they still recruited from CAPFs?

I guess they are still playing a support role and that explains their inferior equipment.

SRGs should be reduced as much as possible and the govt needs to be true to its word to take away the VVIP protection duty from NSG entirely so there is more CAPEX for the top tier operators from SAG, NSG needs to become leaner and meaner.

51 and 52 SAG remain the elite, the entire NSG should be configured to support these two.

NSG has three SRGs 11,12 and 13 each with a strength of battalion, approximately total 900 all ranks.Theyare volunteers from CAPF and State Police forces.

Properly trained and equipped....

Interesting article to read about 11 SRG..

Cheaper to just buy a silenced SMG, thought PARA (SF) used micro uzi to neutralise sentries.
Is it potentially used to hunt animals for food while on patrol? you can avoid firing your weapon in such cases.

Not saying that silenced firearms aren't useful, but smgs and pistols are still quite loud even with silencers and subsonic rounds.

A crossbow is definitely far quieter and the PSE TAC 15 is surprisingly accurate.

I was reading about advantages of crossbow:
1. A crossbow would be much more effective while dealing with a suicide bomber without detonating the bomb
2. If the target is in a location containing explosive materials, it would be safer to use crossbow
