This Performance Is exceptional Coming To the Amount Of Exposure they Face With Limited Resources they get from Govt

Big reveal in latest article by ajai shukla. Now suddenly DFI analysts need to look back on pics of encounters to reconfirm whether it was Para SF or Garuds :crying:

http://ajaishukla.blogspot.ie/2017/10/garud-commandoes-take-first-casualties.html?m=1

the Garud force has been operating in J&K since 2005. Over the years, they have had significant successes, including killing two Hizbul Mujahideen district commanders in Kupwara.

“We prefer to remain quiet about our operations in Kashmir and elsewhere”, says a Garud officer when asked for details.

Unlike today in the 90s all they had in kashmir was a open Jonga and gypsy with AK in their hand a few magazines,2 grenades and puri and sabzi.

That is it.I have seen this from my eyes and they went for weeks in dense high altitude.

NO BPJ and Helmets.

Speaks volumes about how hardcore they are.

People tell me spetsnaz is tough..if this is not tough i dont know what is.

Compare that to SSG..120 killed in just Siachen.

And paki mofos telling me ssg is best.

Firstly,i respect the martyrs for the sacrifice they made for the country.

The Garud has been deployed since 2005 in J&K for Airbase security but not with Para SF.They have also been protecting some secret radar locations in the most challenging terrain.

Being part of Para units has been post 2010 if i am not wrong.

However,we do not know the entire story.3 operators if taken down at the same position is a tactical mistake and is not a Garud mistake but the Para/Army mistake as they were under the Army.
Guys i misjudged the team composition.
The team leader was a Garud officer(not a Para officer) who had 9 Garuds and 10 9th Para guys under him.

As per their admission ~800 killed in Kabz-e-dard..

They wouldn't be mofos otherwise wouldn't they? One requirement is to pull "facts" out of your arse..

I am not even going to get into how do the "facts" get in there in the first place.
I am just amazed by the blind fan following to the SSG from calling it the best of the best..even after shaheeds mard-e-momins in thousands.

to

creating fake list of top SF and claiming that SSG is the best.

Surrenders, fake killings, killing innocents that is what they are worth.(not to mention drug trade and real estate dalali)

Couldnt take Siachen or hold Tiger hill till shareef bhai jan ran with his salwar kameez to washington :basanti:.

What were 20 SF personnel doing in a routinue cordon op?
Was it such a HVT that such heavy presence was brought on?

I don't Know What happened But there Is Lapse

1 SF casualties are negligible But 2 is really Worrisome 3 rd one injured
Means three Operators nullified at once

RR ORT's or Para's Should be Leading them in ops
It takes years of experience to become a scout.

Mohan Nath Goswami who died in Kashmir was a fine scout. You should read his story in the recently launched book.He took down 2 terrorist who were charging towards him with 2 single shots from his Tavor. That is the level of expertise of Para SF operators.

My point being that it is right in my opinion that young SF operators should not be put as scout. If this is what happened then its not right coz these guys were there for experience.

However,we do not know the entire story.3 operators if taken down at the same position is a tactical mistake and is not a Garud mistake but the Para/Army mistake as they were under the Army.
This batch of Garuds were less than 2 months into their 6 month deployment/training module in Kashmir.

Anyway, losses are a sad reality in this business and there's no reason elite troops would be immune to this. This is exactly why the Garuds now spend their last 6 months of training in Kashmir with the Army, they are earning their maroon berets just as the PARA (SF) and MARCOs do.

No doubt about it that the men that come out at the end of this gruesome training will be far more deadly than previously.

SF are not supermen, they still rely on numbers- can't expect a small unit of 6-8 men to assualt a building in an urban enviroment with multiple entry/exit points and an unknown number of targets insice.

During the OBL mission in Abbottbad there were 40+ SEAL team 6 assualters (woth another 40+ on standby) taking part in a mission where they knew they were facing, at most, 3 men.

I agree sir but my understanding in that RR/SoG handle routinue ops and the big boys are got in only for special occasions

Thank god for this post. It could not have come at a better time. Recently, a few members were raising doubts about the viability of the Tavor in the SF units. This should put a rest to their doubts.
Sirji You have grossly misinterpreted this post.

I think Para SF officers have a liking of M4 over Tavor.I read about both the surgical strikes and both the officers were carrying M4.I thought M4 would be preferred only in urban warfare but i was wrong.
I didnt talk of viability at all.I said liking or preference.

You could like Dominos and i could like Pizza Hut but it doesnt affect the viability of either! :)

Hajin encounter: Elite IAF Garud commandoes suffered blow in their first operation

NEW DELHI: Death of two elite Garud Commando during an encounter in Kashmir on Wednesday has once against exposed special commandos’ vulnerability, as they were shot in their first encounter in counter-insurgency operations. Involved Garud commandoes were first batch of Indian Air Force (IAF) commandos embedded with the Army for ‘live situational training’. This was second incident in which Garud suffered casualties. The first incident took place when terrorists attacked Pathankot airbase in January 2016 in which one Garud died.

The decision to impart ‘live situational training’ was taken in the aftermath of the terror attack on Pathankot Air Force station during which Garuds came under severe criticism. Six heavily armed terrorists from Pakistan attacked the Air Force station on the early hours of January 02, 2016 and seven security personnel lost their lives in the ensuing operation. Subsequently, in August this year two squads of Garuds with each squad consisting of one officer and 13 other ranks were embedded with Army. They had undergone a four week pre-induction training before being deployed for Counter Insurgency operations with 13 Rashtriya Rifles.

Garuds were with the Army for live situational training. They came in August and this is the first batch. Idea to embedded Garud Commandoes was aimed to mould them into a well-knit fighting force capable of taking on terrorists,” said a defence official.

A Court of Inquiry into the Pathankot attack conducted by Air Vice-Marshal Amit Dev besides noticing serious lapses in the base security as well as the handling of the incident, it had also noted that had the terrorists been pinned down by IAF Garud commandoes, the lives of the five Defence Security Corps personnel could have been saved.

Sources privy to the development claim that the report also faulted Garud Commandoes for their failure in handling the situation and said that they were ill prepared for the task. In view of it, Government decided that Garuds would be deployed in counter-insurgency operations with the Army in Jammu and Kashmir to gain operational experience.
