The Price currently is coming to 17000USD - Like I Said the contract is not just for the Gun. It will come with Spare Barrels, Spare Magazines, 100,000 Rounds of AMMO and OPTICS - and Optics would be the most expensive part of the Gun.I googled price of this gun. Its retail was around 1400-1600USD.
Firstly, urban CT ops is not the MARCOs' main role, that is why the NSG exists.@abingdonboy
during terror attack on taj marcos just couldnt to the job ,
they were among first responders , they arrive there much before nsg but they back down , yeah ???
yeah so thats says marcos are not equivalent to the navy seals as people claims , but actually marcos are less trained than navy seals .Firstly, urban CT ops is not the MARCOs' main role, that is why the NSG exists.
There were only about 20 MARCOs operators (+ some support elements) on the ground during 26/11. There was no way they were going to be able to handle the situation alone so they did the best they could (containing the terrorists until the NSG arrived).
That was some 8 years ago and the lessons that were learnt will have been applied for sure.
You give the same mission to the Navy SEALs (20 of them against an unknown enemy with unknown objectives across multiple locations) and see what happens.yeah so thats says marcos are not equivalent to the navy seals as people claims , but actually marcos are less trained than navy seals .
Navy Seal has C4ISTAR Environment (USSOCOM) Don;t Know how much time It will Take India to develop Such capabilitiesYou give the same mission to the Navy SEALs (20 of them against an unknown enemy with unknown objectives across multiple locations) and see what happens.
There is little more the MARCOs could have done at that time.
What could would a AC-130 have done in 26/11 or in any operation Indian SF have undertaken in the past 10 years?Navy Seal has C4ISTAR Environment (USSOCOM) Don;t Know how much time It will Take India to develop Such capabilities
They have Also Better Support and logistic
GOD Give us AC-130 Like platform For Covert ops
Indeed.My $0.2
Special forces, whether MARCOs or the SEALS are a scalpel and not a broadsword. Every Special Ops mission is thoroughly guided by intelligence. Also almost 99% special operations are offensive in nature. 26/11 was a very good example of "make do with what you got on the ground" till the reinforcement s arrive.
Given such a situation, most SEAL teams would have had a similar result or worse.
SEALs or IDF special forces only have really amazing success stories because of three factors
1. Political will
2. Clear objective to achieve
3. Most important: sound reliable intelligence
TotallyIndeed.
Too many buy into the Wester/American propoganda that their SFs are somehow "super soldiers". It all comes down to training as well as the other factors you have rightly pointed out.
Anyone who has monitered Indian SF interaction with their Western counterparts will know that every time this happens the Western guys are surprised by the Indian operators and how similar they are to themselves.
