Dude that is a video dating back to 2001 when he was a captain and had graduated from HAWS sometime back, it is his 1st or 2nd time climbing Everest , as he climbed it again as a Major.

You can easily see he is much slimmer in that video compared to the 2011 video, as Col. Shekhawat is also into strength training and gained quite a bit of muscle mass in the last few years.

That is not a 2015 video. It was made in 2001. Uploading it in 2015 doesn't make it a 2015 video.

From the video summary itself :

Indian Army added another feather to its cap in May 2001, when its mountaineers successfully scaled Mount Everest and put a record eight members and seven Sherpas on the summit. This is the largest number of summiteers on Mount Everest in an Indian expedition.

The mighty mountain ranges of the Himalayas have, over the centuries, inspired not only man's imagination and spiritual quest, but also his spirit of adventure. Mount Everest, the tallest of the peaks of the Himalayas as also the whole world, stood in its unattainable isolation for thousands of years, till Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary conquered it in 1953. Since then, at least a thousand climbers have set foot on it. That at least 200 have lost their lives while trying to scale the peak speaks of the infinite dangers involved in the task.

The Indian Army Mount Everest Expedition was flagged off by the Chief of the Army Staff on 1st March 2001 at New Delhi. It was led by Col. Krishan Kumar. After flagging off, the team moved to Nepal and after a long trek from Jiri, reached Base Camp of Everest on 3rd April 2001.

Can you please elaborate the difference between them and/or their advantages ??
Aimpoints are better for close quarter battles where you dont need much accuracy.
Where as ACOGs are like sniper scopes intented for long range shooting than Aimpoint.
But the disadvantage is that Acog sights couldnt be used as easier as an Aimpoint/Eoctech sight. While using an AimpointYou could shoot by keeping your both eyes open ,but you can use only one eye to take shot using ACOG.
If you had playedd call of Duty or Battle field PC games you will knew about the difference much easily.

Good evening sir,
I have a small doubt...
Recently we had terror attack on punjab..It took many hours to hunt those three terrorists ..Why??
Government is spending crores and crores of rupees on training and equipment for our forces.Even though it takes nearly 2+ hours for our men to complete the task..Even during 26/11 MARCOS (navy special forces) could have raided taj hotel and nariman house with maharashtra police as back up instead waiting for NSG from manesar:confused1:...This question stuck my mind this morning..
Forgive me if this question looks silly
Regards

Even though I am not marked in the post, I would like to try to answer the question:

It took almost 12 hrs because as per reports they were planning to catch them alive. We have to remember SWAT is a police team, not army. Army shoots to kill, police mainly shoot to save lives.

Money spent on specialist teams is inconsequential, the number of opportunities they get to practice their training is what makes them more effective in future. I am sure they will review their procedures and correct themselves.

As far as MARCOS are concerned, as on 26/11 they were not trained ana equipped for urban COIN operations, this has been confirmed by current navy chief. He also confirmed that the Marcos now have been trained in urban COIN operations.

There is no denial that there have been some lapses, like they could have geared up while on the bus. They had to use a J&K police van to reach the place. Let's just hope they are corrected in the future.
