A PLAN CBG can potentially have 600 long range SAMs for defence (or 400 missiles for offence). The eastern IN fleet needs to have atleast 1.5 that in throw weight to counter it . Suffice to to say we ain't there yet.

A sensible question.
There are only a few options.
1. If those Chinese weapon systems are in Pakistan Armed Forces inventory. Quite possible for India to gain insights into their performance parameters through espionage. One rider is that it would be the export version of those weapons- a downgraded version.
I believe we have a very good spy network in Pakistan.

2.The technical secrets of those Chinese weapons were provided to India by the Americans. Not wrong to assume that the Yankees/other NATO countries have an reasonably good espionage network in China. Both India and the US face a common threat in China. Not saying that out interests converge 100% on China. But we do have common ground.

3.Not possible at all that R&AW has managed to infiltrate the PLA and the Chinese military industrial complex.I would sincerely hope that there is at least one media report of an ethnic Chinese national caught spying for the R&AW.
But I acknowledge that it's certainly not an easy task to recruit Chinese spies. The cultural and language barriers are quite difficult to bridge.

Any updates on when the first Nilgiri Class will be commissioned and the repeat order for the P-17B?

I would have also liked a repeat order for 3-4 P15C to replace the aging Delhi Class since the NGD will take some time. Unfortunately that won't happen. Especially, with the Ukrainian marine turbine problems.

MDL is targeting to deliver the first P17A by December 2024, and the fourth P15B around Q2 FY25. Nothing new on P17B as of now, will only take place after all P17A are delivered.

Can by some magic Brahmos be modified to be hot launched instead of its usual cold launch.
At the end of the day It has a solid rocket booster at its base, how hard can it be

Will help us in making a proper UVLS which will l support hot launch like KVLS 2, MK 41, MILDAS, not to mention it would be arguably simpler to both manufacture and maintain

We can have two different types of UVLS systems. One for SAMs and lighter missiles and another for the Brahmos and larger missiles. The Brahmos is so big that it might not fit in a reasonable UVLS anyway even if it was hot launched.
