5 NGD
7 Nilgiri class frigate repeat
6 NGMV
8 NGC
11 NGOPV

That counts to 37 warships for construction, I am still missing 2.
NGD? NGC? Have they finalised the design? Sorry but it’s dreaming to expect contracts for them this side of 2030

the P-17A contract also was mentioned as 2+ years away by MDL

I reckon most of the 39 would be relatively small OPVs or even interceptor boats

This is a chicken and egg circle. Dassault is saying if we buy moar, they will implement folding wings while IN is saying implement folding wings than we will buy.
That isn’t what either side is saying AT ALL. Dassualt has demonstrated the Rafale M can fit on the Vikrant’s deck edge lifts at an angle (just like the F18) with its existing wing planform.

I still think the chance MRBF gets to contract signature is less than 1%, there’s too many complex issues with integrating another fighter on the Vikrant far beyond the lift issue that has a relatively simple fix.

IN has all but said TEDBF is the saviour, I just hope ADA has been given fhe support not to screw this up

Remember we have been flying 2 Sea Guardians for FREE for YEARS now.
That’s not what the GoI has said. They are leased hence the IN likely have to pay for every hour they are airborne

+ there’s no such thing as charity here-every MB of data on those things is fed directly back to US ground stations, the only Indian involvement is for landing and take off, after the gear is retracted they are controlled from terminals in the US via SATCOM. It’s a pretty good deal for the US, they get live feeds of the Chinese without having to worry about any diplomatic blowback

Thats what I am saying! how come suddenly all issues with R-M got resolved!!
Because they never were an issue, that was just Boeing BS.

I’ve been saying from day 1 that Rafale has the best chance for MRBF and wouldn’t have an issue on the lifts if the F18 could do it and look what’s emerged- BOTH can fit because BOTH can be angled on the lifts. If one solution works for Boeing why can’t it work for Dassualt?

I’m still yet to see how the F18 is superior, the Rafale has better EW (yes yes growler but that’s a dedicated EW bird not A fighter and it’s doubtful India would be offered the top spec Growler), better A2A (Meteor), has Indian weapons already being integrated on it, has ISE paid for, is nuclear payload capable etc etc

90% of fanboys for F-18 seem to have got their impressions from battlefield or top gun

I expect Project 75 (I) to happen after project 75.
What does that mean? RFI+20 years whilst all the capacity at MDL rots? The exact same mistake mistake they made with the type 209s. It’s mind blowing that one generation of officers fails to learn from the previous

either order P75I 4-5 years ago, or 3 additional P75 so there can be seamless deliveries of SSK, or do the standard IN/Indian mil thing- sit idly by and issue paper requirements as your fleet declines and enemy grows.

even IF P75I’s RFP was issued to tomorrow the first boat wouldn’t come until the mid-2030s. I wonder how many subs the PLAN would’ve added by then, 30, 50?

A bit of confusion is there. If these FIC-I are the NGFIC or something different. Currently, no similar vessel is available in the fleet. The closest relative being the Solas Mariner type interceptor boat which weighs around 40 tons but here IN is asking for a vessel with maximum weight of 17 tons.
They are basically in-shore/coastal escort boats for the large capital ships as they move in and out of harbour, I imagine they’ll be operated by SPB?

so basically entirely to replace/supplement the solaris FIC, are you sure they are 40t by the way?

still highly confused as to how that 80 FIC order went to SL in the first place

Forget PLAN
Porkies would be getting their first of 8 subs from China from 2023

Seems weird. All the Hornets were tested successfully at Goa.. I know a guy who went there himself flying the Hornets in India.

F/A-18E is the best choice we can make regarding this
Having Rafale makes more sense. 36 of which we already bought, so we can negotiate a lower price. Supply of spares can also be negotiated at a lower cost. Commonality with airforce and training. France also has a somewhat independent foreign policy is not a complete US vassal state, so less likely to disable crucial systems at the drop of a hat. Plus we have a good experience with still in service Mirage 2000 .

Note : I am completely ignoring the corruption aspect since I have given up on corruption in Bharath and esp defence dalals and chandigarh lobby ever being eliminated. The Mirage 2000 deal also saw us get shafted by France. But based on experience they don't restrict much the how and where usage of the weapon systems once sold.

My prediction is:
06 NGMV
05 FSS
11 NGOPV
1 NHS
07 NGFAC
03 CTS
06 High Speed Landing Crafts

And all of this are within 1-2 years. Then we will move post 2025 projects which will include:
NGD
NGC
P-17AU
LHD

If you go to Wikipedia page of Indian Navy Ships you will see the roles of ship like: Guided missile destroyer/frigate. But if you visit the same of Pakistani Navy, you will see: Multi-Role Guided Missile & Air Defence Frigate. So much effort in making everyone believe about their capabilities.
