The US might "make good" with the country trying tooth and nail to bring down the US? Not happening. A formal alliance with US is bad, but a partnership with them will be very beneficial. And sure, I agree we should sanction proof our stuff - But if you think US can push us around like it did to Turkey you have a very low view of our own importance. US needs us, like we need them.
In simple - USN & Indian Navy need each other to counter China in Indian Ocean.
Sanctions - its better not to talk about it considering parts, reliability of russian equ and more than 400s indian jets going to use US engine.

Very funny, Sir
Love Charger told me you are a retired naval officer, and you need to understand that its not me, but IN chose rafale over SH, since you worked in the IN, you tell me why IN choose rafale ?? and I thought IN going to choose SH.
Plz don't bring EA18G, its confusing, and what about next AC[ catobar or stobar], and US support in next AC ??
Is their is any restrictions in using US weapons inside Pak territory[us allay] ??
Sale approval Apg79 to India ??
If IN choose sh, i support sh & if IN choose rafale, i support rafale.
[During mmrca, LM said buying f16 increases chances of f35 sales to india & more than 4500 f16 flying today -''F18 is a better carrier bird because of sheer numbers, experience, support system and the ability brought on the table by the EA18. '' - and at the end IAF selected eft & rafale]
How may money IN going to spend in R&D and purchase of tedbf ??
Has IN chosen Rafale? We just have media reports, and I have seen enough reportage from the original MRCA days to know they mean zilch. Could very well be and probably IS biases and lobbying in disguise.

Lets just wait and watch

A relatively new image of modernized INS Trishul F43. Few changes which I can notice are:

1. Lynx FCR for Puma FCR.
2. Scanter 6000 for Garpun.
3. SRGM for AK-100.
4. Brahmos for Klub.

The other changes I wish for is getting rid of Fregat MEM and MR-90 illuminators with an indigenous X/S band AESA radar and replacing the Shtil Arm Launcher with VL-SRSAM.

Isn't kashtan better than ak-630
It was mentioned somewhere that Kashtan performed poorly in Indian seas and weather conditions that is the reason why they switched to AK-630M on Batch-2 and it became our standard CIWS.

In 90s, IN wanted some counter for Pakistani Harpoons so they evaluated two systems: 1. Kashtan and 2. Barak-1. Kashtan performed poorly so they went with the combination of Barak-1 and AK-630M on Delhi class.

This very thing - of US sanctions and fears of the same are so passe. They dare not sanction us now because the consequences would be severe - for all concerned.
And b, India needs the US as much as the US needs India.
I hope this kind of thought is a minority in the decision making corridors. Their cultural influence and softpower is already dangerously significant. Giving a potential enemy so much power in the military is just simply STUPID. Policies change over night.
