More can be ordered. A lot of deals kept as bargaining chip with the US- Trump especially used to love those directly.IMRH isn't coming soon and I don't think Navy is onboard with Dhruv for its utility role.
Do we have any data on how many are required on capital ships? INS Vikky, Vikrant, Destroyers(2 each is the hangar capacity), Frigates, etc?
Dhruv and Romeo fall into different categories.
The Navy needs smaller 5ton category helos for SAR, transport duties and heavier helos under NMRH for ASW, AsuW, Special ops.
The Naval Dhruv perfectly fullfills Navy's requirement under NUH because of which its import has now been banned under the current indigenization list.
Navy already has expressed interest in procuring 60 IMRH helos (41 for ASW/ASuW + 19 Special Ops) which means its no longer interested in acquiring 123 helos under NMRH.
So at best, a few additional Romeos will be procured or will be limited to the current 24 since IMRH has now been fastracked under SPV model.
