No ship is getting it till their mid life upgrade. Barak is getting costly as hell. India is copying some aspects of Barak in their new MRSAM. I don't think for the next 10 years anyway.
Again it also depends upon requirements. If IN decides we are going to fight only in the IOR, 32 SAMs and 8 AshM is more than enough for frigates.

Some funny thing is our older, but not.too old ships Shivalik class, which we built with some design consultancy from Russia, has 32 Sam, 24 SSM, 8 AshM etc. Our new ships have lesser loads.

Our newest destroyer has just extra 8 more AshM slots than our frigates. We can build 32 more. It's all fine if we fight within BoB, Andamans and Arabian Sea. But in open waters, it's not enough.
I think brahmos missile more expensive than barak8, but not sure. Barak comes with entire system, including 4 fcr, missile, vls, computer etc. Considering pn, 8 missile is a lot.

Isn't it better to go for some land attack missile plus vlsrsam ??
We don't know the internal architecture of our ships. IN has not publicly commented on what we perceive as underarmed ships, their future plans etc. Its better to have lot more and I do believe we have space for more. Reason being our old Shivalik class frigates is more armed than our newest destroyer. But again sensors and electronics are 20 years old and no Barak on them.

And yes our old ships carry Dhanush BM, Klub missiles. I haven't seen our newest ships have provision for BM or Land attack missiles. Theoretically Brahmos can be used as Land attack from ships too but range limited to 300km. Should be awaiting for Nirbhay.

I think it's the Barak is expensive. Brahmos is.an JV by name. 90% by parts and 80% of costs have already been indigenised. With Barak it's not so. India still.havent started to replace Israeli parts yet.

But anyway, even if it's costly Brahmos is required. Number might be 8 or 16.;

But in some recent article it was clearly written that aip will be installed in last scorpene
I will search it now
It was told DRDO AIP will be used in last 2 scorpenees initially. Seems Navy told DRDO to.prove working in a working platform and not on new ships as Submarine arm of IN is damn low.

Throw this at their face:
IMO: A-100 is strategically much, much more important than any navy assets Russia has today. They can not even speed it up. How do they expect people appreciate their ships ...
- admit that I didn't spend much time to verify information on that link, though
-- and to be fair, it did mention that Russian is working to solve this matter, esp the part of Su-30SM2
