Some people compare India's situation with Israeli which is utter nonsense. India and Israel were in same position 40 years ago, but Israelis took a step and did not allow it's neighbours to have nuclear capabilities.

Now the situation is different. Israel does not have any neighbour like Pakistan and Iran does not get support from US like Pakistan gets. So Situation India faces is way different. Secondly, let me remind every one that Kashmir is not similar to Gaza or Jerusalem issue. Why? Because Kashmir is land issue and Gaza or Jerusalem is a religious issue. Those people are clear about it and call it a holy war.

If you really want to bring Kashmir at par with Gaza then make it a religious issue like Pakistan is trying to make and which India is trying to avoid, but remember the day you call it religious issue, whole Muslim population in India will be with solitary with Pakistan on Kashmir out on streets.

Let us not behave like kids and noobs, most of you are very well knowledgeable and aware. Don't flow with the emotions and do not fall for the trap by third parties who do not want to see Indian economy rising. They know that this government is giving hard time to every one at all platforms and this India is not the same India as before. So its a time to act smartly.

What's the population of those 5 districts vis-a-vis the rest of J&K?

It's half of Indian Kashmir.

It also has more than half(46/87) of constituencies in Kashmir. BJP cannot form govt even if it wins all constituencies of Jammu & Ladakh.

What's the population of those 5 districts vis-a-vis the rest of J&K?

Here are some facts you may be interested in:

1. Separatist are present in only 5 districts out of 22 which is 15% of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh and they are all Sunni Muslims.

2. The Shias, Sufis, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians are not separatists.

3. Two of the three regions of J&K are not Muslim majority areas. 85,000 square kilometers are not. When you talk of separatism, there haven’t been any protests against India in these 17 districts out of the 22 in J&K.

4. There’s only one section of community—Kashmiri-speaking Sunni Muslims who have a separatist agenda. When you see a TV debate on Kashmir, who do you see? Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Yasin Malik, Shabbir Shah, Gilani, Asiya Andrabi, Lone etc. All Sunni Muslims only from these 5 districts out of 22!!

5. J&K has around 12 per cent Shia Muslims, around 12-14 per cent Gujjar Muslims and around eight per cent Pahadi Rajput Muslims, Sufis Christians, Buddhists and Hindus. None of these communities have any separatist leaders.

6. When Afzal Guru was hanged, the media made it appear as if the entire state was out on the streets. The reality was that out of 22 districts, there was not a single demonstration in 17 districts and only these five districts in the Valley faced mild demonstrations.

7. Poonch has 90 per cent Muslims but this district is dominated by powerful Sikhs. Kargil has 90 per cent Muslims, Kargil city has more than 99 per cent Muslims but there was not a single protest in those areas.

8. Our perception about J&K is that a battle between nationalism and separatism is going on for past 68 years. Nationalism has neither been lost nor will it, because in most areas of the state, majority of the people are nationalists.

We Indians are being brainwashed by the hyper sensationalist media by portraying that the whole of J&K is fighting for azadi or Pak. And that is what most of us think. Nothing can be farther from the truth!

May be i am wrong as i'm novice in these matters but after watching the video of conversation between martyr Aurangzeb's father and the army officer, i want to say that, we are in this situation
not because we were not hard on the jihadi scums but because we failed the kashmiris fighting for mother India. Their's pride for nation & flag is equal to all patriotic indians.
