Arjun MK1A. Only if we can get rid of it's rifled gun for good & put a 125mm smoothbore there. it will be a completed massacre at international border to our west.Arjun mk2 is damn beautiful , man
That would require a redesigned turret. Also an autoloader.Arjun MK1A. Only if we can get rid of it's rifled gun for good & put a 125mm smoothbore there. it will be a completed massacre at international border to our west.
This part is not correct. The whole turret is supposed to blow off, leaving the crew on their armoured cabin.and the entire tank will go boom!!!
not even a single crew member can survive.
is the internal crew armour enough to sustain such an explosion? This part is not correct. The whole turret is supposed to blow off, leaving the crew on their armoured cabin.
it can have a non-russian style autoloader for 125 mm smoothbore gun with single piece of ammunition. that would give it a chance to design apfsds with 1000mm RHA pen at 2km.That would require a redesigned turret. Also an autoloader.
so finally you accept that even Arjun MK1 has better frontal protection than leopard 2a4.Arjun MK1A. Only if we can get rid of it's rifled gun for good & put a 125mm smoothbore there. it will be a completed massacre at international border to our west.
Does anyone else in the world make single piece 125mm ammunition? Do you think OFB can always be trusted to maintain proper QC and regular supply? It wouldn’t make any sense cuz all the other Indian tanks use 2 piece 125mm tank ammunition. So 120mm and 125mm single piece wouldn’t make any difference from logostics point of view. The OFB 120mm ammo is just a upsized version of the ammo DRDO developed for the the original 105mm gun and possibly is the reason why FSAPDS 120MM MK1 was so poor. Why we went for 120 mm is beyond me , all other tanks have 125 smoothbore .
That piece of junk zarrar also has 125 mm gun.
Such a beautiful tank brought down by due to gun
maybe because it has its derivations from british L7 105 mm gun used on vijayanta. and russia wouldn't give 125mm gun TOT.Why we went for 120 mm is beyond me , all other tanks have 125 smoothbore .
That piece of junk zarrar also has 125 mm gun.
Such a beautiful tank brought down by due to gun
yes. the FSAPDS MK1 penetrator was actually made for 105mm gun. so ~ 300mm pen at 2km is actually decent for a 105mm gun . even abrams M1 with 105 mm gun fired apfsds with 310mm pen at 2km.Does anyone else in the world make single piece 125mm ammunition? Do you think OFB can always be trusted to maintain proper QC and regular supply? It wouldn’t make any sense cuz all the other Indian tanks use 2 piece 125mm tank ammunition. You realize the life of Arjun gun is double that of Indian T90sWhy we went for 120 mm is beyond me , all other tanks have 125 smoothbore .
That piece of junk zarrar also has 125 mm gun.
Such a beautiful tank brought down by due to gun
...And can fire twice the variety of shells, while all tanks in our sub-continent has equally shitty 500-550mm rated FSAPDS.You realize the life of Arjun gun is double that of Indian T90s
Well , I don't know about any other source to acquire information sirJi....And can fire twice the variety of shells, while all tanks in our sub-continent has equally shitty 500-550mm rated FSAPDS.
No noisy people don't realise that much. Just look how random & pointless the comment is, of the other guy too. Most chaps usually know what they've been spoon-fed from a few YT videos, not actually spent time acquiring information in details.
Yeah that's what I said... But the fact is all tank-guns in the twin are equally underperforming & Arjun's 120mm holds the above mentioned advantages.Lots of people criticise arjun for its gun , saying it's underpowered etc
Apparently one was under development, but no news on this front for a long time. Maybe next Defexpo... Anyways 125mm Hill no advantage one 120mm only problems, like it'll need a bustle autoloader. So we had no reason to change. A 120mm smoothbore should have been imported & indigenised to save time.If DRDO can make such a ingenious 120 mm rifled gun , then why not a 125 mm gun ?
What are the protection level of Arjun MK1A? as for rifled gun advantage there are limits to how much chamber pressure can be increase without fcking life of barrel due to rifling.reduce muzzle velocity will be another problem. spin drift of rounds & spin induced ricochet off armour due to rifling induced round spin is another problem.Yeah that's what I said... But the fact is all tank-guns in the twin are equally underperforming & Arjun's 120mm holds the above mentioned advantags.
Just read this thread only.
yes but rheinmetall guns used by abrams, challenger, leopards have 3 times the life of arjun. meaning 6 times the life of indian T-90 guns. You realize the life of Arjun gun is double that of Indian T90s
