Dont think so. India has several means available today which India does not use. For example India has MLRS systems that can be used to attack terrorist camps. But India avoids use of such weapons.
Sir, what do you think is the reason as to why India is not making use of the sources we have to get rid of the terror camps across the border and also bring an end to the Kashmir issue once and for all. I think we should have taken back Kashmir long back when pakistan was much weaker than now (regarding the MILITARY PREPAREDNESS AND TECHNOLOGY).....

The reason is India does not want to escalate. Increased shelling will kill civilians on both sides.

Kashmir cannot be settled "once and for all". The issue of Kashmir is quite complex and demands patience.

Pakistan does have SAM systems though it is unlikely there is much defence of terrorist training camps.

However attacking a low tech low value training camp is not logical. They can easily move the camp somewhere else. Let them suffer the effects of terrorists spreading poison in their own society. They will get killed by their own poison.

India will win by patience and fortitude.

Indian Army's team of 8 GARHWAL wins Gold Medal in the prestigious Cambrian Patrol held at United Kingdom from 17 – 26 Oct 2014 Out of more than 140 participating teams from all over the world the Indian Army's team won the Gold Medal in the prestigious Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2014. Exercise Cambrian Patrol is an annual international military patrolling exercise that makes its participating units cover a 50-mile (80 km) course in less than 48 hrs while performing numerous types of military exercises placed throughout the rugged Cambrian Mountains and swamp lands of mid-Wales, UK. Cambrian Patrol was first set up more than 40 years ago, by a group of Welsh Territorial Army soldiers who designed the training event to feature long distance marching over the Cambrian Mountains culminating in firing. In 2006 the exercise was opened to foreign armies to participate. The aim of the exercise is to test leadership, self-discipline, courage, physical endurance and determination. The competition consists of teams of eight men patrolling across some of the most unforgiving terrain. The tests are over two days with no sleep or rest. Some tests which are undergone are; Firing of personal weapons, Obstacle crossing, First Aid and Casualty Evacuation, Recognition of aircraft vehicles and equipment, Artillery target indication, Patrol Techniques, Helicopter drills, Communications skills, Handling prisoners of war, Tactical River/ Stream crossing, Ambush/Anti Ambush Drills, Recce Techniques, Tunnel Crossing, Navigation Skills and Rock climbing. Many of the teams that enter do not finish, those that do earn one of four distinctions; gold medal, silver medal, bronze medal, or passing. In the past Indian Army team of 4/9 GORKHA RIFLES won the Gold Medal in 2010.

SRINAGAR: Three militants were gunned down in an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu & Kashmir's Kupwara district on Tuesday, the Army said. A gun battle was still on around 12.30pm between the security forces and militants on a day voters of this border district cast their ballots in the second phase of assembly elections. The Army said a group of five to eight heavily armed guerrillas made an infiltration bid in Nowgam area of the LoC on Tuesday morning. "Alert soldiers engaged the group in a sustained gun battle in Nowgam sector on our side of the LoC. Three militants were killed," a senior army officer told IANS.

LIVEFIST: Indian Army Killed 6 Pak Terrorists In High-Altitude J&K This Week; Here's What They Were Carrying

Indian Army says it hasn't seen better equipped terrorist infiltrators in all it years of operations in Jammu & Kashmir. Between December 1-3, in an operation codenamed Jatti Gali for the forbidding forested nook at 14,000 feet in the Naugam sector of Baramulla, soldiers of a Garhwal Rifles unit took out six 'foreign' (the Army's euphemism for Pakistani) terrorists. The terrorists had Swiss-made snow clothing and boots (with crampons) and were carrying more weapons & equipment per man than ever encountered before. Among their kit was a huge quantity of grenades, batteries, ammunition for assault rifles, digital navigation consoles, wire-cutters, satellite phones, snow boots and a large quantity of high-energy food.

There is nothing wrong with Gypsy. Why are you so disappointed. It is a light 4 wheel drive with a very good petrol engine. Petrol engine is better in cold climate.

Indian Army got a bad name. They listened to their civilian masters and dropped their guards and allowed the terrorists to approach their guard post in the Uri sector on the night of the last incident. In the end all terrorists got eliminated but an expense of a Lt. Col and nine other ranks.

The civilian governments in J&K and in New Delhi had been pressing the army to lower their guards because civilian boys horsing around in a car got killed recently. That was what the terrorists were waiting for to happen I.e. Army guards units close to the LOC became a bit less conscious of the danger. The terrorists approach the bunker complex, stayed unchallenged, took up positions and shot at any thing and everything which moved or approached their position.

There are parallel to Mumbai story. There also danger signals were not fully understood and terrorists were allowed to land on a beach and then unload their gear and merrily move around in the thickest part of the city (in a nutshell).

LET and ISI are laughing at India, that how easily they can catch India unpreprepared and at peace with itself. Although this should not have happened as firing at LOC had been happening for the last three months. That would have made the army units close to the LOC to be extra careful, but they were a bit relaxed.

I do not think that the matter would be forgotten as the Mumbai attack was forgotten. It is Modi, who is incharge not impotent Manmohan Singh. A befitting reply would come. It has wait until Putin and Obama have departed India after their visit. This matter, I am sure Mr. Modi would bring to their notice. Then their views would be known. Mr. Modi would send a befitting reply.

This time India would breach the LOC, send its commandos across, kill evey terrorists they find in their camps. This avenging would be more befitting if Pakistan is prevented from rushing troops to Azad Kashmir, by troops movements at the Indian border by threatening Pakistan if they thinned too many of their troops.

If they insist a match across the international border, then time is right. Last match took place in 1971, their could be another one now. That will have dampening effect on both LOC and Pakistan's army which is out of control for the last fifteen years. LET will vanish as the price paid is too high and Pakistani Army cut down to size, giving civilian governments chance to run the affairs. If air war ensues, then it is best time to knock out ISI headquarter in Rawalpindi and LET headquarter in Lahore. If Pakistan continue in the name Jihadi victory, then knock down their nuclear installations, although their nuclear bombs are well protected, these cannot be found easily. But these are under American Nuclear lock, hence threatening to use them will bring US into the picture. This they cannot risk, because US had been planning to take these away from Pakisatni hands for a long time. US always fear that sooner than later Jihadis will grab hold of these.

Hence this is time to cut Pakistan to size.

Security forces recover IED in J&K's Shopian district

Srinagar: Security forces on Thursday found an improvised explosive device (IED) under a culvert in Shopian district of Kashmir, averting a major tragedy. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah addressed two election rallies in the district on Thursday and the spot where the IED was recovered was about seven kilometres away from one of the venues. "Based on the intelligence inputs about a presence of IED on Shopian-Bahibug road, the troops of the Infantry Unit carried out a search operation of the areas resulting into the recovery of one cylinder-based IED, planted under the culvert near village Lundura," an army official said. He said the IED was located at 3:40 PM and a bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot to neutralise the explosive. "The area was immediately cordoned on either side of the road and IED was destroyed in situ by the Bomb Disposal teams of police and Army," the official said. The official said the recovery of the IED averted a major tragedy and thwarted the ill designs of the militants who intended to cause violence and terror in the assembly elections. Omar addressed two rallies in Shopian district and had left the venue when the IEDs were discovered.
