According to a report iaf and navy considering to procure a fighter together.....
It might be Rafale or f18
Bdw f18 is more capable naval fighter (hvtiaf said)
But Rafale is better than f18 in airforce perspective....
Again Rafale has more chance as it is already present in iaf ....so it will preferred

I believe it will be 36 (iaf) + 18(navy) Rafale
And a mix fleet of Rafale and mig29 will be a wiser fleet on ins Vikramaditya and vikrant

Iaf has expressed openly need for additional Rafales.. if they get 2 more squadrons of it then the 114 mrca req comes down to 70.. if Navy's requirement of 50 aircrafts are added to this 70 then combined procurement of some 120 aircrafts can be done with Indian manufacturing

And these pilots bow to the Mig 21 pilots :)

Controlling Mig-29 (non-FBW) and Mig-21s and take advantage of high AoA requires skills and practice beyond normal jet pilots.
Yep when it comes to flying by the seat of your pants.

There's a saying within IAF-
3000 hrs on a Su30MKI is equivalent to
2000 hrs on a Jaguar which is equivalent to
1000 hrs on a MiG-21.

But when it comes to heavy air dominance and air supremacy , Flanker and Fulcrum is on the very top . The boss.

In the first major heliborne ops of the war, troops of 4/5 GR were heli-lifted from Kalaura to a DZ behind enemy lines, near Sylhet on 07 Dec. In over 36 hrs, 584 troops along with 12,500kg of load were heli-lifted by twelve Mi-4s.

This is the first Indian heli lift op . And it was big by that day's standards. In the West, they classify these ops as air assualt ones .

FRENCH MID-AIR MULTI-ROLE TRANSPORT REFUELERS COULD BOOST AIR FORCE
The Indian Air Force (IAF) now operate seven Russian IL-76 M refuelers with Pakistan acquiring four of the same refuelers from Ukraine and China operating three of the same Russian refuelers along with 10 vintage modified versions of Russian bombers.

The defence ministry is considering a French proposal to acquire six Airbus 330 Multi-Role Transport Tanker (MRTT) aircraft on a government-to- government basis for expanding the strike capability of the Indian Air Force (IAF) by purchasing the latest mid-air refuelers.

The IAF now operate seven Russian IL-76 M refuelers with Pakistan acquiring four of the same refuelers from Ukraine and China operating three of the same Russian refuelers along with 10 vintage modified versions of Russian bombers.

According to officials at South Block , while the IAF wanted to get an Airbus 330MRTT on wet lease from a British company, the French proposal involves selling six 5-7-year-old aircraft to the IAF with a certification of another 30 years of platform life at a much reduced price.

The IAF has been eager to acquire an MRTT over the past decade, with the previous request for proposal (RFP) expiring without any results.

According to a former Indian Air Force chief who didn’t want to be named, the Airbus 330MRTT platform has much larger wings of the Airbus 340m as a result of which the aircraft can refuel two fighters mid-air at the same time through drogues (attached to wing pods) or a central refuelling boom system.

The best part about the Airbus aircraft is that it can transport 260 personnel in cabin and fuel in the cargo hold due to highly efficient and high-powered engines. The MRTT can be turned into purely a tanker or transport or air ambulance or all three at the same time with a total crew of three.

Mid-air refuelers are a key to expanding the operational envelop of the IAF and Indian Navy carrier-based fighters by extending their range. According to the former IAF chief cited above, a mid-air refueler can be used to extend the flight of a Sukhoi Su-30MKI or Rafale flying from Port Blair all the way up to Sunda, Lombard and Malacca Straits for freedom of navigation missions.

“ The French proposal is a win-win for IAF as the international market for aerial platforms is down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The aircraft does not guzzle fuel and has high-power engines to operate from high altitude air bases in Ladakh like Leh, Thoise and Nyoma and at the same time transport troops or conduct medical evacuation if required,” said a senior IAF official, requesting anonymity.

Sqn Ldr Mistry in particular was attacking the Pakistani command centre at Sakesar, one of the most heavily-defended targets in Pakistan. He was solo, because his wingman's engine failed to start. He chose to press on. Two squadron-mates, including Arun Prakash were airborne, attacking Mianwali nearby at the same time. They heard him call, "Look out for me, chaps". Poignantly, that was the last India heard from this courageous son.

It takes balls of titanium to do what Mistry ji had done solo in a Hunter Mk56.

This is what Cmde Tufail had written about our valiant Sqdrn Ldr in his book .

Any idea what is the price for these 6 A330 refueler aircraft?

So we are strengthening our bilateral relations in the military domain .

What is next? A GtoG deal to form a JV to design and develope a sixth gen jet with an indigenous engine to be developed by q consortium of scientists and engineers from both countries . Their IHI can partner with our GTRE and HAL for developing a high thrust low bypass three stream adaptive engine which is able to supercruise.

Tangail airborne assault. History's largest paradropping of troops after WW2.

On 11 Dec, a fleet of six An-12s, 20 Packets & 22 Dakotas paradropped a battalion group of 800 personnel & equipment including 12 jeeps at Tangail. The paradropped forces were among the first Indian troops to enter Dhaka.

140th Manufactured RD-33 Series-3 Engine for the MiG-29 Handed Over to IAF – Defence News of India
SOURCE: HAL PR

HAL’s Koraput Division achieved a “milestone of successful manufacture and delivery of cumulative 140th RD-33 Series-3 Engine for the IAF”.HAL’s 140th Manufactured RD-33 Series-3 engine for the MiG-29 In recognition of this achievement, “Completion Certificate” was handed over by MJ Vinod Kumar ADG, AQA (Koraput) to Asutosh Mallick, GM (Engine Division)

HAL manufactures RD-33MK that provides a higher thrust than the basic model (RD-33) while featuring all its advantages such as unrestricted flight control and high stability against ambient disturbances. A jet fighter equipped with this engine can safely take off the aircraft carrier deck and efficiently perform combat tasks in a hot climate. The engine contains systems that reduce its infrared and optical visibility.

In 2006, HAL sealed a deal worth $275 million with Russia to acquire and licence produce Klimov RD-33 turbofan engines as part of a refurbishment programme for its air force fleet of MiG-29 fighters
