At this point, like it or not, a G2G deal with US for a limited number of F 35 is the only option. It's costly but we can go for a lesser number say 50-60. The quantity required would be compensated by quality. The US MIC has the ability to complete the order at a short notice and unlike rafale the production lines are not choked with orders. AMCA in the mean time should be fully supported but we can not afford to wait till 2035-40 to replenish our squadron strength. We would be sitting ducks in that period.

Ya'll Nibbiars Very sad news coming in Wing Cdr 'Jaggi' Nath MVC and Bar, passed away in Mumbai. An Indian Air Force legend who flew numerous recce sorties over Tibet and Pakistan in his Canberra in 1962 and 1965 wars.

Ya'll Nibbiars Very sad news coming in Wing Cdr 'Jaggi' Nath MVC and Bar, passed away in Mumbai. An Indian Air Force legend who flew numerous recce sorties over Tibet and Pakistan in his Canberra in 1962 and 1965 wars.

The porkies can get things begging but we can't even buy successfully
No wonder our sq strength will reach to their level in few years plus even we consider 1/3 or 1/2 squadron getting crashed every year

Your worries are correct with respect to china. Pakistan squadron strength is meaningless as 70% PAF is f7 , mirage 3 and 5 all of which are 50 years old and m3 and m5 don't have any air combat capacity.
J10 and f16 ( if upgraded) are only fighter capable to challenge IAF somewhat. They can be tackled by lca mk1a and mig29upg successfully. Rafale is an overkill for entire PAF right now and once lca mk2 starts coming in paf is irrelevant no matter how many j10 they add .

I am speaking our strength reaching porkies sq strength in generalized manner not capability but just Rae nos where as being 5th largest economy is shame for us
