India still needs to destroy infrastructure in Tibet and might need saturation attacks against bridges , railway tracks to cut off Tibet from mainland.

And anyway a proper bomber fleet will require decade plus to put in place.
which is why even a whisper of this deal must be opposed.you know IAF,they will use whatever opportunity to get a foreign deal.they would use the excuse if they get their way to buy this measly no of white elephants and then not buy more workhorse practical tejases due to fund crunch or some other excuse.make tejas the backbone adn the ecosystem of IAF and destroy the backbone of the import lobbies strongest bastion.

All this talk about us acquiring any Strategic Bomber/Carrier is just drunken bumkum. We neither have the budget, nor the political will to execute such a deal. Also, the options available for us wrt to airframes are limited notwithstanding the associated attachment of strings that come with such deals, more so wrt to the Tu-160 (CAATSA etc.).
also we must note that none of our politics allows for raids with bombers for the missions we would intend to use it for, they just stay on the ground as deterrence.we do have the political will in my calculus to use fighters and other more practical solutions like drones,so lets concentrate our limited resources adn time on them.

Why India has stuck to just 36 Rafales and MMRCA deal taking time why can't I dia buy off the shelf F 35 from USA to get things look better
IAF/GoI asked F22mki, but USA said, its not for sale. <joke>
Do you know the difference b/w allay & partnership ?
F 35 not under sale for India, matter of fact, agp79,aesa fcr of sh need additional usa congress permission.
Also IAF want a development complected jet not one in development stage.
F 35- very expensive to buy[iaf] & maintain, need entire new weapons, availability rate is low compared to rafale, and no Indian Specific enhancement.

Perhaps the only image released to the public, depicting a F-16 within the gunsight of one of our Su-30s. :D

Exercise Cope India ^ USAF F-16 on the pipper.

I love the fact that we aren't using the standard bullshit Russian symbology on our Su-30s. Great decision by the IAF

As US is providing F - 35 from get go. Come on man, just check the MRFA and the plane is only F 21 aka F 16. No where US even hinted they will provide F 35 to India, these are all some dormitory based Firangi Indian Imagination.

More on F35 rumors -
F35 offered will be heavily modified . Will be called F35i . India developed weapons and indian EW ll be integrated . Deep access to software for modifications without US permission .
Lockheed martin trying to hit the base cost of 77 million $ which is cheaper than most of the 4.5 generation . And it has gone silent on F16 V offer in MRFA .
