Good thing that RM mentioned C-295 deal and its importance

At 1000 meters above sea level, that radar won't see enemy target flying at 1000 meter altitude over Jaisalmer or Pokharan. But ofcourse that is not what Green Pine is for and hence its placed back. I understand your point that the HPR will also be placed on high ground, much closer to Pakistan, but that still won't give us complete vision. We need AWACS and blimp-mounted radars (Nakshatra, etc) for Cruise Missile Defence.I should have elaborated further, by ground radars I don't mean radars only on the plains, but also on hills and mountains. Without disclosing much, we have green pine radar on Mt. Abu at around heights of 1000m above sea level directly looking into Pakistan.
We always knew we needed more AWACS it's just the deals have been in backburner over price negotiation etc for decades i.e. phalcon AWACS .I should have elaborated further, by ground radars I don't mean radars only on the plains, but also on hills and mountains. Looks like CRPF in VIP Protection duty
VSG
Full form?
Just the VIP security Group within CRPFFull form?
Slightly OTCan gurus here post something about air to air capabilities of mirage 2000s and jaguars?
Their radars and there comparison with pakistani planes?
It is an Equitus SagitariiWTF is a Roman cavalry doing on a Indian airforce squadron logo!!!
On one hand folks are trying to de-westernise Indian discourse, and these folks are introducing ambiguity in Bharatโs narrative. Push and pull at the same time defeats the purpose.
=========
Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile Air Defence System being inducted into the 2204 Squadron of the Indian Air Force in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh would be officially inducting the missile system into the Air Force here.

Na , it can be anybody.Parthians actually if I'm not wrong
Upgraded Mirage 2000 is a fairly capable fighter platform. The only bone of contention is its Thales RDY2 Pulse Doppler Radar, which can be a problem due to Jamming but it's not as if your adversary has power-optimized AESA all throughout their fleet(PAF has the majority of JF17 Block 1 and 2, and F16 variants from the 80s, PLAAF has Mig21 copies, Su 27 copies, and J10 Block A and B. KLJ Aesa is reported to be problematic due to air cooling and low MTBF). MICA missiles(especially IR) are pretty impressive in the medium range. And within visual range, it is as good as they come. Will still be relevant for the decade.Can gurus here post something about air to air capabilities of mirage 2000s and jaguars?

You mean the ASRAAM?Jaguar afaik carries only the AMRAAM for close-quarter air to air combat (primarily for bombing role escorted with other air superiority fighters)
Thanks, corrected.You mean the ASRAAM?
