First picture does not match with rest of the pictures and video. see carefully the background in video and first picture does not match. That proves that first picture belongs to some other Aircraft

A MiG-21 for a F16 and 1/2 dead Paki pilots is not a bad score at all but the analysis of this recent series of events will have plenty of talking points.

- IAF really needs to step up its CSAR capabilities. The IAF POW was all it took to effectively end ops and gave Pakis a HUGE PR victory which they have been milking ever since.
- MIG-21 needs to go YESTERDAY. I don’t care that it took out a F16 in the chase. It is utterly unacceptable that these junk remain in Indian service, they were frontline jets in 1971 and were in 2019- disgusting. 100% this is CONgress’s fault and they deserve a place in hell for it. Ideally Modi announces on Monday next week that India will be ordering 36 more Rafales on a emergency basis. Let opposition cry foul and expose themselves as the traitors they are, this will be two birds with e stone.

Real highlight- Netra was used in a real world operation just days after being on display at an airshow. This speaks highly of the capabilities of the crew and the machine, this is the ultimate rebuttal to all the naysayers, when India inducts a system it is only after it is war capable. That 3 (with 2 only going to IAF) have been ordered of this beast is a disgrace, AWACS INDIA had better get its A330 CCS sanction ASAP.

On this front, the future is surely
Indian weapons and equipment, QRSAM, Arjun, AKASH-2, Brahmos-A, NAG, LCH and SO many more are on the horizon.

India is certainly building up but it should be higher. Hopefully every penny Indian govt can find is thrown at CAPEX for armed forces for the next 5 years (as long as Modi is around), the future is surely very bright.

Sorry for the sober assessment.
All pics released by ISPR are of Mig-21 (including the one of the engine). If ISPR accidentally releases pictures of downed F-16, heads will roll. Sadly, we lack proof of downed F-16.
Air Marshall Chandrashekharan Harikumar replaced by Air Air Marshall Raghunath Nambair as Western Command Command chief - possibly because of Wind Commander Abhinandan Varthaman's capture. The timing and optics of this is questionable.
Several things to consider:
1. Imran Khan / Pak Army knows that a war of attrition goes against Pakistan. He wishes to close this chapter of hostilities using our pilot's release. They can claim victory and quit ahead - atleast that is what they expect to play to their gallery.
2. The engagement exposes our Air Defence capabilities. There are gaps in the western air defence and Pakistan knows this. We are struggling to replace our base air defense guns - but need more SAMs - as well.
3. Attacks against terror strikes demand cheap cruise missiles like Tomahawk, Kalibr and Raad. US used them against SSyria. Russiaused against Isis. Pakistan possess them. We do not have Nirbhay yet. Brahmos is too costly for these operations.
4. Mig-21 needs to be replaced fast - cannot afford delay in MK1A. But IAF should order and field more MK1s in the meantime - WVR equipped missiles in a BVR era will evidently lead to losses.
5. Future peace time engagements will be short and propaganda intensive. Need to consider this - all engagements need video recording and there should be a strategy to record and release wartime information. It is stupid to not picture a downed F-16.

If you look at the video i posted earlier, you will see that exact part being dragged at around 1:16, and no it isn't a part of engine, PW engine has diagonal pattern.
Or you can look at this video and see for yourself what the wreckage of Mig-21 look like, it became quite clear now

"Pakistan says it has shot down two Indian jets"

"Pakistan says it has ....."

"Pakistan says......"

Note the terminology- they admit that they have not verified the reports but just published the sayings.

Do remember the same "international news paper" were taken on a guided tour to LoC and "shown" that "there was no Indian surgical strike"
