If India PROVOKES China will China stay quiet.
How would we FEEL If China "ANNOUNCES" 20 BILLION Dollars Aid to Pakistan
I will be most happy if China "announces" a 20 Billion Dollars aid to Pakistan and then also follows up on giving it. Do you really think that they have such cash lying around to distribute? The total disinvestment raised on their Agricultural Bank earlier this year was 22 Billion USD and that too when almost 60% was underwritten by other "State run corporations". If you think that it was that easy for China to go around donating money then why would they not have done it even when there is the President or the Prime Minister or a senior ranking general of Pakistan visiting China once every month or even more often????

China's aid policy is very clear. They use even Aid to grow their economy. So it is always in form or loans against some weapons/ capital equipment / good manufactured in China which they give on soft terms because then the government does not need to subsidise that "export" and the ROI continues to reflect consistency internally.

So China is not giving anything away till it is spent on Chinese property.......

The GOVT of India in all its wisdom AND AFTER much deliberation has formulated a policy of
NOT PROVOKING CHINA
The government of India has not formulated a policy of not provoking China but has devised a threshold beyond which Chinese belligerancy is not acceptable. It is a known fact that the more subversient one grows to China, the more belligerant China grows with that nation. But when challenged, China will know the risk it stands to follow up on the threats..... Vietnam is a clear case in point..... in fact recently Myanmaar can also be considered in this aspect. The world does not say without reason that "China will fight India to the last Pakistani alive".

If Pakistan attacks India or there is another big terror attack Then India has EVERY RIGHT to go after pakistan.
Then Even China will stay AWAY .

But if try to make mischief in POK by occupying peaks then we are PROVOKING CHINA .
Once again, I am against overt hostilities in POK or any part of Pakistan but NOT for the reason of avoiding provoking China. Both India and China have a lot to lose in an overt war and like I mentioned, that war is an ever dimming prospect by the day.....

POK is a place in which CHINA has COMPLETE INTEREST .Because The road and rail links That China is planning from western China to Arabian Sea will go through POK.

There is NO SENSE in provoking China
Not just POK but right thru Balochistan up to the Arabian sea is an area of interest for China. So like I mentioned, just wait till the Islamists get on China's case and they will........

India is NOT APPEASING CHINA .IT IS JUST BEING PRAGMATIC AND WISE

Border incursions by China will continue.
Because The LAC as drawn on the map with a pencil is itself 5 km wide

On the India China border ,China knows that it cannot indulge in " border incursions" or "transgressions " as they are now called; beyond a certain point.

But should China cross the zero line then Indian Army will open fire.

Indian Army border patrols are "UNARMED" on the LAC because we dont want any incident which will be later blamed on India

WE are preparing and we must prepare ourselves for any future challenges BUT PLEASE NO MISADVENTURES.

Blocking KKH for few weeks is not difficult but maintaining Posts and peeks to eye over it is extremely difficult cause its very near to Int'l border and in more hostile Azad Kashmir.

As known Unknown has mentioned and i have mentioned in my previous post that getting hold on some Part of KKH is very difficult to check China permanently cause its far distant from LOC. The nearest point at KKH from LOC in POK(azad Kashmir) is 60~KM away and we do not have any accessible road to that point on/near LOC but Pakistanis do have, connecting neelam velly to both KKH and LOC. The Nearest only accessible road is Srinagar to Leh which Pakistanis can easily cover cause they have 7 main road originating from whole kargil range and leading to exact north of LOC.

Interestingly these were the same road supplying NLI during Kargil but not connected to KKH. Also india can block KKH passing from Azad! Kashmir for many weeks by striking from Srinagar Airport (~160 Km). Chinese BMs are not the main problem due to their extensive range but Chinese Illegal presence undermining India as a Integral nation; which India can counter with Tan Man Dhan with International community supporting India and snubbing land encroacher China.

If we have to be little honest about stamina of India and role of Int'l community deescalating soon then India can capture areas up north to kargil range which are not connected to KKH via any road. If India can sustain Siachen so can those areas but this will help India for future roles to Play against duo (who be concentrating force in Gilgit, consolidating KKH and rail network).
If India is interested in giving the right message back then we should capture the easiest and less populated terrain. Also India will be able to kill Pakistan's blackmail of repeating kargil and choking Siachen forever.

Regards

Though I seriously would like India to do a pay back on kargil and pull off another siachen on those pak army buffoons who have blood of so many innocent Indians on their hands but then the stakes for us are too high at this time to do any such thing, there are a lot of good things that India needs to cling on to in the near future for we now have a perfect launching pad for all that and I am sure no one wants to jeopardise all that good for a country which is anyways on a suicidal mission.

Incase we were to do a kargil on them we would be fighting a diplomatic war where we will have to face a belligerent USA, EU, china and the mid east and these are all the countries that you need on your side to up the stakes of India at the world stage.

This is precisely what the Chinese would want India to do, why oblige them?

Do a china on them and so I completely agree with Jha where he highlights covert support to insurgency in Pakistan the launching pad of which should be a'stan and iran and make sure people fighting the war are locals from there and if we were to do it smartly the huge number of unemployed paks would be more than happy to oblige with the top command of Indians no where visible.

Why do we make our position awkward when all that can be done without compromising our morally high ground which we have attained after a lot of hard work?

One is not too sure that India is being pragmatic and not appeasing. On the surface, it does appear to the contrary, but then who knows how the wheels of the govt and the intelligence agencies grind.

I would be rather sad if the GOI takes the view that border intrusions will continue. If that were to be so, then why have a border? There is a sanctity involved with the connotation 'border'.

The problem is not drawing of the Line of Actual Control with a pencil, the width of the pencil mark representing 5 kms as mentioned by you. The problem is the interpretation of what is the actual Line of Actual Control. Both sides have a different connotation.

China attempts to patrol up to the line they perceive as the Line of Actual Control and that is way inside as per the Indian interpretation.

No border patrol, be it Indian or Chinese is Unarmed. If they were so, it would not be classified as a patrol, but at best a civilian survey.
