All items you mentioned, nothing could've prevented this action. Because this was an ambush. Which happened after the infiltration.

What could've prevented such accident. Yeah eyes in the sky, drones. Especially on western front.

Can you tell me Which party is sucking paper roll lolipop that says a drone with 18hours of endurance is not acceptable.
Proper PCs and medical kit could saved literal lives in an ambush.
NVGs to hunt pigs at night= more pigs killed with their pants down sleeping= far less ambushes
Better rifles instead of the jamming junk known as isnas= more firepower In a conflict in zone= more pigs dead= less ambushes

like Op shokbaba forest, a casualty which would have turned fatal, saved by IFAK

IA sucks on proper real time battlefield intel and night fighting, and basic kit for a jawwan other than a rifle and protective gear from 80s

hate to admit it but any western military worth their salt in a similar scenario would be dancing on dropped bodies considering the quality of militants these days

Who the fuck procured a Direct Impingement battle rifle for our jawans?
Who the fuck procured AK203 (watered down on top of that) when domestic AK variants were available?
Who the fuck is sitting on top of the carbine tender making our soldiers vulnerable?

Who's fault is that our special forces still don't have binocular NVGs in the 21st century when world has long ago transitioned to quads?

Who's fault is that our military is still unable to replace old INSAS LMGs with modern ones?

Who purchases weapons only to appease the other side instead of what suits you better?

Will any general send his kid with an INSAS to an op?
Who writes GSQR OR PSQR or whatever Generals or politician?
who develops tactics generals or politician?
I understand politicians ambition, vision and ability to appoint good and competent people at helm and firing them when they donโ€™t deliver matters the most (china and us would not be what they are today if their political class did not had grand ambition)but You say it as if genrols are dudh ke dulhe and politician are to be blamed for every failure of theirs.

it's eating dust, nobody likes them, they come in at 20 KGs

mind you these are tailor made to IA GSQRs, so it's a really Low IQ moment for IA when SMPP itself has much better designs on offer, but they still wasted 100s of crores of taxpayer money on random crap

says a lot about Genrol thinking stuck in the 60s
Absolute fucking sad state of affairs now they are buying few pcs here and there and nothing else asking iits to develop a lighter bullet proof vests

Which variant(s)?

@ALBY is a serving officer and has clearly down voted the TAR(Trichy Assault Rifle) and the TAR apparently ranks at the top among all domestically manufactured AK clones in India.

Agree, most of our procurements are seen through the strategic-value prism, but I don't see what is so bad about the DI SIG716. Its dirt cheap, its light and very accurate.

What were our alternatives at the same price point in 7.62 NATO?

It's my ardent desire that this nation faces a full fledged multi front invasion & a widespread insurgency at same time.
0.5 are hyperactive in Manipur and active in TN, other parts of India including Kar & Maha trying their best to stir shit hoping it blows up big time.

I seriously question the competence of genrols, when they have been on foreign deployments, seen what's going on elsewhere in the world

Why do you want soldier to wear NVG and do search operation when better results can be achieved with more safety using surveillance drones.
Their IR signatures will lit up like Christmas light, especially if they lit some fire in the middle of forest or a shallow cave. Throw in some anti personnel munition with shrapnels and get things done quickly.

You can say they need eyes on the ground to avoid collateral or killing some local resident (who decided to light campfire in forest). Then they can again use small drones to double check if IR signature belongs to tangoes or not.

This urge of doing things old ways is the reason of such losses and I don't see it changing.

Randistanis weren't able to celebrate for long, R&AW strikes again.
TBH these are small battles in civilisational war and time is against us. What we need is neuter the napak one way or other.

@Austin316
Accountability of the genrols who made wrong GSQR and wasted taxpayers money and time when better in house alternative were available and now no soldier wears those said BPJ .

Because Americans also did the mistake of funding Pakistan taking their support and fighting the very terrorists their so-called ally was funding. Today Al-Qaeda is nothing, they make threats of attacks but never do so. Same for other organisations.

Terrorism can never fully end, I know that but saying "we have intel on trillions of terrorist launchpads in PoK" everyday and then doing zilch is what causes these attacks on our forces.

Problem isn't Salahuddin, it is the hundreds that gather around him. They need to be killed before they come here. And much more needs to be invested on fencing tech.
You are right, untill GOI pursue a proactive policy in targeting the Ts like Israel do, we will continue to lose army personals in peace time. Each and every time we have a casualty due to T attack we should activate red hot the LOC without crossing it. Let them escalate it further if they wish so...
The fact that there is now a caretaker gov in pak is good thing for us to activate the LOC,probabilities are higher for the pak to escalate things.

Airstrike is a different thing

Da Jooz do Targetted assassinations in Arab countries
And almost 100% of the time their agents get filmed while killing their targets
Some attribute it to being LAX on opsec, I'd say they want to get filmed so it serves as a warning

GoI couldn't conjure up 1% of the balls and do what da jooz does
