Chinese actions since last year on LAC were not meant to capture any territory... rather bind Indian army's mountain divisions to LAC... so that IA doesn't mount anything like "Operation kabaddi" on POK after American withdrawal from Afghanistan.

But if whatever details General Panag dictated to Happymon Jacob are accurate... then a "Op kabaddi"(10-15km slicing) like salami slicing would be division level operations not requiring additional troops from IA's eastern command or the XIV corps of Leh.

As declared yesterday by Pentagon... they will make 100% withdrawal by Aug 31. In 2001... Operation kabaddi was planned from mid September to late October... though couldn't materialise bcoz pak became American ally in war on terror.

Sept-Oct would be interesting.

Another prediction: imagine a situation where jihadis are blowing themselves up spontaneously... without any reason... without any command or direction from any overlord... This also will happen soon in Islamic state of Pakistan.

Possible, but also depends on the intensity of the third wave if it comes to pass.. with increasing vaccinations the death : infection ratio should come down like in the UK..

Yeah but I expect taliban to remain busy in afghan for near future... More over they will need foot soldiers to capture territory.. More so since afghan army have the material to fight them. IMO, this shud help us since taliban will be forced to ask their cadres back from Kashmir...
