It was justified since the government of the time did zilch to counter Chinese incursions. Perhaps the BJP hoped to spark them into action. Pretty much heck i would say 1 day looking at how Russia was throwing close to a 100 missiles in a single day during their attempt to Destroy the Ukrainian power grid.

Considering how large India and China are both would need a lot more missiles than Russia to cause significant damage.

checked a bit . Russian equivalent is the iskander ballistic missile , similar warhead size and range .
