Ya, we gave up Haji Pir pass at that summit.
There’s a reason the land gains had to be given up.

For one, indias grand objective was to keep status quo, which was achieved.

And secondly, throughout the war, in Fazilka and Rajasthan sector, there were large areas which simply just had border police guarding it, and no regular army. Pakistan used the ceasefire opportunity to overrun these areas with regular troops and Mujahideen

Whose fault is it for being stupid? Nehru was not exactly known for his military acumen and he wasn't smart enough to foresee threats and left a legacy of problems and bordeline defeats for us. Indira was great in some respects even compared to Modiji, she had bigger balls than anyone. Just not in the correct party and bred bunch of cuckolds....saying peace does not grant peace no matter how many times you say it. Its just stupid and not the intent of shanthi mantra

Nehru didn’t even try for a summer offensive. A meager two brigades launched an offensive against Pakistans Three brigades of regulars, three of PAk Occupied Kashmir troops, and many tribesmen, in Uri and Tithwal and gained some land before being forced to halt.

Indira is simply the best statesman indias ever had. Operation Steeplechase, putting down Khalistani militants, 1971 Pak War, and a forward policy on China in the late ‘60s, as well as the capture of Siachen.

Shastri as well. The same Kashmir Insurgency that’s happening now also happened in the 60s during Op. Gibraltar, where 7,000 Mujahideen (would swell up to 10,000). Only thing is that armytargeted their supply routes in punitive strikes at Haji Pir and Neelam valley, which broke their back and forced them to exfiltrate

He is one of those that likes to hangout with gora clubs coming out as achiever. Totally useless leader and unfortunate for India that he was the first PM vs Patel or Shastri or Malavya or many others. Just destroyed the momentum that we had coming out of muslim and british slavery.

She had the acumen but not what India needed, we need different nationalist type like MOdiji with Indira balls.

He is a good leader through and through, I will still go with Patel.

This was another classic Nehruvian eff up. After 1948 war, the entire IB should have been defended by IA to some degree.
