Igla-S is much improved and can get target coordinates fed to it. There is a reason why Rajnath went to order it, probably got some in emergency already? They should have gotten Pantsir, Buks and TOR based on how effective they were in Syria to stop Tomohawks, and other Israeli and Nato missiles.

the other sam you mentioned are for area defense, even with the terrain it'd be difficult.. IDF Jets exploited them over and over again in Syria.

Not necessarily. Their cruise missiles can be tracked by Phalcon Awacs, and then shot down by either fighter missiles or SAM (using tracking data from the Awacs radar, if not in line of sight of its own radar). Most likely the Indian Army and Air Force also have over the horizon long wave radars that can detect the cruise missiles at long range. The one good thing about having many SU-30MKIs is that its Bars radar has a massive tracking range and should be able to track the cruise missiles at decent ranges for a missile shot.

All AD's have some pk and they did very well in Syria to the point where Isreal now attacks mostly from Lebanon without entering the Syrian air space. Most non strategic missle systems intercept in terminal phase. igla-S is no sam but pk is not zero with it.

IMHO, they should ban bollywood movies especially Aamir Khans. The bollywood movies are used to fund anti-indian forces. I have my doubts to believe that Dangal was such a big hit in China.
