Question for some Experts on this forum

Given the challenges of weather/terrain how hard is to maintain those heights if it goes for a long haul? It would be like living on tiger hill with basic tents/rations/fuel plus fear of Chinki Counter attack?

I'm astonished why didn't IA didn't take this step since Galwan valley clash? If we had preempted aftermath of Galwan valley clash and dominated this south flank chene would be pegged back way back itself and all these build up of forces in despang finger areas would be prevented. Thought to note.
Probably we were not ready and no one expected Galwan honestly

As per maps We have nearby base and fortified enough to withstand any attack

We needed time to build up and plan plus we had to do this in a way that the world community wouldn't consider us aggressor, meanwhile we prepared and made some emergency purchases.

After Galwan? We kept on doing unnecessary talks even this occupation of heights is reactive to chene adventure. Why didn't we go ahead pre empting chene when clear advantage of strategic piece of land was lying dormant to take.

Mobile network has been suspended in the eastern Ladakh since Sunday afternoon, when heavy movement of troops was first reported from Leh towards Chushul and Pangong Tso and Galwan Valley, the major hotspots in the region. “The situation is not normal on the border. We are hearing that clashes have been going on around Black Top mountain in Gurung Hali of Chushul area for some days now. We are hearing that our troops have been injured,” said a resident of Durbuk in eastern Ladakh.
Another former legislator from Ladakh said that fresh Chinese aggression was also reported from Pangong Tso in the past week. “Locals in the villages near Pangong Tso inform that the Chinese troops have come up to Finger two area and provoked the Indian Army,” he said

Black top seems to be really tense, since we have occupied the heights, considerable chinese light and heavy tank presence is seen, their movement halted due to our presence, even we are equipped with artillery and other weapons, foolish move if China decides to take it back.

India is getting pushed around in this border dispute. First there were Chinese encampments and patrols in Indian territory for months without any rebuke until the Galvan valley clash in which the PLA killed 20 Indian soldiers. That got India's attention. But what did India do besides go on an arms-buying spree and send more troops to the border? Not much apparently. India hasn't punched back, hasn't forced the PLA to retreat, and hasn't grabbed anything to use as leverage. Now we can see that for all their talk about negotiations they are still intent on nibbling away at Indian land. China continually pokes and prods along the LAC, looking for weak spots and building up its infrastructure where ever it can.

India's leaders are getting badly out-maneuvered. They're always in reaction mode, always waiting for the PLA to make the first move.

China's CCP leaders are playing a long con game with India. Their leaders and diplomats smile, talk about peaceful development and historical civilizations while the PLA is robbing India blind. The CCP is like the smooth-talking thief who distracts the cashier while their partner-in-crime robs the store. India needs to recognize the CCP's con-game and push back hard. The longer they delay, the harder it will be to undo China's gains.
The main thing is that we have not built hard military power . If we don't have enough military power then our options are limited . The 10 year Congress rule is a big hole in military acquisitions .
