IMO Chinese took a gamble and tried to intimidate India with this operation this was pre planned

Arre Chomu.. PAF strategy is much more defensive than IAF. In 1971 IAF conducted an order of magnitude more sorties into enemy territory than PAF did.. PAF is like a pussy hiding at home during a fight, and telling his friends "Look I did not suffer a scratch in the school fight"..
