Yes the communist have won from my place as well, 13 seats in Total.

Out of 16 seats won by Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation), Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Communist Party of India, Communist combine won -

1. Won in six seats gifted by allies. Five seats gifted by RJD, one by Congress.
2. Won in seven seats by defeating(displacing) JD(U). Quite impressive.
3. Won in three seats by retaining them.

In all, quite an impressive performance in small districts which are largely under developed. So slogans of 'soshan', 'gareebi', 'rojgaar', 'jaat' etc are winnable keywords.

The Communists defeated JD(U) comprehensively in all the seven seats where JD(U) lost. Chirag Paswan's LJP got few votes to add to JD(U)'s tally had they been together, but appears the signalling from LJP was enough I guess to vote for Communists. He is another Pappu and one needs to watch out for him.

One of the reasons for doing so is because the communists weave the intellectual blanket under which our corrupt and inept "secular" parties sleep. They are able to do so because of their grip on academia. One of Modi govt's biggest failures so far has been its inability to purge communists out of academia. Its therefore a symbiotic arrangement where the seculars give the communists political space and even political power (to some extent) and in exchange they polish the credentials of these parties as path breaking and historical.

As I've said elsewhere, removing the deeply entrenched communists from our systems is easier said than done. Given that they are primarily found in labor unions, farmer unions, environmental activists groups, and academia, I say that removing them from labor unions first and foremost is top priority and quite doable. That paves the way in academia. The CAA protest and anti Hindu pogrom in Delhi is a very good background against which a good section of JNU, AMU, and Jamia can be purged.
