Shills obviously get paid, or they are blackmailed, or both.

The shills i'm talking about are politicians( Bill and Hillary in case of rare-earths ) or bureaucrats.

Corporates will shill anyway for China because pissing them off means their precious supplies are cut off or become expensive, they have no concern about long term schemes of shifting resource dependence away from Chinese control, they only bother about the immediate.

It's obviously a partnership these western shills would not protect chinese monopoly unless they benefitted in some way??

Yes they are benefitted in a lot of ways.

Almost all chinese mines and other rare earth metal and mineral installations in Africa are protected by private security firms most of which are from the US.

To give an example majority of chinese owned mines in the Congo basin and nearby regions are protected by the blackwater security firm handled by Eric prince who is also a close friend of trump who had helped him pardon blackwater war criminals a month back.

Such firms and their contacts make sure that China continues with its bussiness so that their investments are not hurt.

In the end we will just back down. although i do agree this govt. has more guts but banning apps is meaningless gesture. the govt. should seriously consider banning all the imports from china . there is no need to give them billions of dollars every year.
