Bring It On

saw several night ops vids on weibo

special forces paratroopers exercise in pamir mountains , rocket force , artillery.

i think both sides did ops during night and both side used flood lights to track the other.

some night exercise above pamir mountains , no night vision , :| only head lamps

Recently EAM Jaishankar in a meeting with chinese EAM said GOI disagre with CDS, and India doesn’t believe in clash of civilisations. But PLA disagrees with Indian EAM and marching towards their agenda. EAM must wake up from lala land and stop trusting the CCP

India needs a National Security Strategy & Strategic Culture, as everyone in India seems to be working in silos. EAM looking at it from diplomacy angle, NSA from intelligence orientation, CDS from defence perspective, Politicians from electoral brownie points, but no one consults strategists.

There is a disconnect between Civilian academia and Indian strategic planners (both in Govt and Military). In West both Civilian Academia and Military Strategists walks hand in hand, as it is evident from Govts consulting large number of think-tanks and absorbing their recommendations into their policies.

But the ground realities says otherwise , OSINT like Detresfa have posted satellite images proving multiple airfileds bulit near border
China is indulging in Psycho-warfare.

First they get to release reports in media that, China is conducting night drills in Tibet, than next China builds airbases near LAC.

Every top military in the world conducts night drills, India do it on regular basis that too in high altitudes. Nothing new in it.

But no one talking about why 4 WTC Cmdrs were replaced in 1 year? why they brought in the new WTC cmdr who is also a Vietnam war veteran? It seems that there is a gap between Expectations and Perfomance from the Chinese PLA.

One should also consider the fact that why China conducts regular exercises. There has been multiple issues of Chinese weapon systems and their ability to operate at very high altitudes and thats why these new weapon systems are been constantly tested in these altitudes.

The chinese art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting, endless drill near LAC means they doubt in their capability so they keep making PR warfare visuals to deceive the opponents. salami slicing in pangong was unopposed initially, and we had to push them by occupying another strategic height, a direct confrontation was avoided. But at some point of time we will have to fight and reveal the real capabilities of the chenes in battleground, make them run for life.

I post this, not because it is good but it is typical Indian perspective and it is typically bad. Over all it shows that how Indian said leak of knowledge of PLA but it is very representative . I can break down by points.

Outdated information. China has not deployed any J-7including JJ-7, which was designed for training new pilots, near India at least 10 years. I don't know why this guy and a lot Indian "experts" in media keeps mentioning them. The most deployed fighter jets along the LAC is J-16 and this guy seems know nothing about this. He didn't even mention J-16. But instead, he was talking about Su-27sk which is the retirement process.

No idea about the existence of specialist aircrafts, such as AEW&C, reconnaissance aircrafts, EW aircrafts. One thing I found Indians really like to ignore is the existence of specialist aircrafts when they talking about air power balance between China and India. Because there are basically no reconnaissance aircrafts, EW aircrafts on Indian side and IAF has very few AEW&C.

No idea about the air defence chain on the ground. Another thing they like to ignore is China even without Air Force, it still has very solid air defence and radar chain along the LAC. On theatre level, it has HQ-9 and HQ-9B range around 200 KM. On brigade level, it has HQ-16, shot over 70 km. For field air defense and air defense while traveling, it has HQ-17. Then there are Man-Portable Air-Defence System for drones and lower targets. These things Indians usually just straight-out ignore because again they don't deploy much on their side.

Also the Indian side seems knows a little about "highlandsation" of Chinese equipments. So for a lot Chinese equipments, they were designed to fit the environment of 4000M, for example Z-8G, Z-10 and Type 15 tanks. All Chinese jets and transport aircrafts will have to do their test flight of adaptability of high attitude warfare. J-20, J-10, J-16, Y-9, Y-20 and J-11B all did it just to make sure there is little performance lost on high attitude airport, if they were given enough infrastructure support. I don't think Indian side know about this at all because they are still thinking whatever happen J-8 age, that jets need to sacrifice a lot just to take off .

As many other Indian "experts", this guy also don't read any first hand Chinese information, if you look though his tweet, this guy's Chinese military related news source is SCMP, I don't need to say more.

In fact, the Chinese Army lacks night vision devices. This is the 11A night vision device equipped by China, the main equipment of the Chinese Army.
The performance is basically the same as pvs14,

Tomorrow is China’s Mid-Autumn Festival. The soldiers of the People’s Liberation Army stationed in the Galwan River Valley send blessings to the people of the whole country. I am very happy to see that we are equipped with new bulletproof vests and the Galwan River valley has also built a perfect patrol road.

Where did this guy get "10 new airbases along LAC"? Whole article is based on one 2 line quote from a "source".
its definitely not "new" , but they have upgraded existing + added several

upgraded means new airstrip , hardened shelters etc

check this article

thats seven + also 3 new heliports.

Chinese are not playing around , the very large complex north east of depsang is good proof of this.

will be very interesting to see how all this plays out in future.

Yes but that "7 active air bases" is is really last years news. I am irritated because these guys are getting payed but seem to have less knowledge than random folks who look at google earth once in a while. Garbage journalism to say the least.

Thats true, in SCS(east VN sea) conflict, CN forces that were at least triple than VN forces, were retreated shamefully. The reason is simple, Chinese were scared and don't wanna keep risking their lives to die in the conflict with VN.
