I'm talking about mobile phones .. yes we may make make more components but the difference isn't much.. we are so happy with a display fab .. none are even dreaming of a Fab for sensor chips (cameras).
The tale of battery and cpu chips everyone knows .. my point is we know the mountain that we have to climb to reach self sufficiency ...the kanglus on the other hand are free to live out their delusions of being a European country.

Well well we are not poor in indigenous smartphones but very callous in this field. What Micromax and Lava is doing is giving bare minimum and expecting us to buy their products like a sheep. But it will not happen for multiple reasons.

1. Relying on pure android and marketing them as some sort of massive advantage. People have issue with Chinese smartphones makers decision to insert ads on phones which becomes a headache. Majority of the people loves MIUI, Color OS etc for its features. On the other we put pure andoid and some features and inshallah.

2. Poor utilization of hardware. Eg. The recent IN series smartphones have good hardware but a big letdown in software. Be it camera processing, bugs in UI they have a lot of issues with them and it takes them some substantial time to sort out. Our market is fast moving and this will not help them.

3. Marketing is poor - too much relying on Nationalism. We all know the supply chains.

4. Customer care is not great .


If Micromax, Lava wants to gain in market share.
1. Investing in Android skin. ( You can copy features from Chinese folks)
2. Improving the marketing .
3. Improve the software support.
4. Improve the Customer service.

Dear friend. Samsung and Apple literally designs their smartphones, processors, image processing algorithms, AI engines etc. Finally they will give this mobile blueprints to ODM like Foxconn, Pegatron etc.

Unfortunately we are not putting effort in this field.
