Islamists are the perfect weapon they can use without any casualty to their own. They live off pittance, have no sense of growth or desire for stability, are always at war with anyone, have a hive mentality of following their clerics, and are ready to die en masse for their cult.

You nailed it. Pakistan is collapsing and Americans know that. They have milked them enough and now there is nothing left in that hellhole. That's why they intend to replace them with an Islamist Bangladesh - for keeping an eye on China and us at the same time.

If we attack them in future, they can propagate how a rising India is a threat to the smaller countries, but if we don't, they can continue doing what they used to during the Cold War.
