No one, particularly small countries like Taiwan, likes mass immigration. It is an abuse of friendship to assume that just because a country like Taiwan is friendly with us, they will be fine with 100,000 of us suddenly coming into their country. Yet this has been made a foreign policy issue purely for emotional reasons, doing away with logic.

Need nuances here. Not talking about H1B, but the mobility pacts we are signing with other countries have deportation clause which will make overstaying tough and deportation easier.

2) The people who choose to work in other countries upskill themselves, get exposure and in general upgrade their profile, which can be used in India when they return.

It's almost a win-win situation for both countries, India gets a relief from unemployment, upskills it's workforce and the host country gets the skilled manpower it requires to run it's industries; without having to bear the burden of immigration.

The migration is based on a permit, which can be renewed by the host country on it's discretion.

If let's say the host country does not intend to extend the tenure of said individual, he/she will be back to India quickly.

When it comes to Taiwan, the 1,00,000 figure is just an estimate. It all depends on the demand of their industries. The hiring will be done by the industry and not the government, the government on both sides is just making the process more streamlined.

There is no abuse of friendship here, there is a demand in the host country, we are supplying. If we are not supplying, then someone else will!

If and when the demand will end, so will the need to supply.

The difference between India and Europe (a huge difference) is that the Moolas living in Europe are indeed immigrants that have come from Africa/ME. They are not converted from native xitans with same DNA(quoting Mohan Bhagwat).
