Let’s not get overjoyed about the UP FIR, it’s just a beginning of a reform. it takes atleast 20 years for any reform to pass judicial & constitutional test.
twitter can afford to pay millions of $ in legal fee, they would have already wargamed this scenario.
it’s a first step, never the less.
Agreed with you.
Here we have to look in big picture. If you have observed in a class of students, many students behave mischievously. Teacher does not slap and punish everyone. It catches big and duffer one and slaps him, others follows the suit and get silent and there is clamness.
Here "Yogi" is in election mode and have meeting with PM, HM etc. and BJP cannot afforad defeat in UP now and specially after WB and UP local elections. Twitter was bully student and need to show its place. Sometimes things also turn in favour like in present case. You can say "Karma".
Govt of India has removed protection from Twitter and Twitter is liable as publisher. Local staff of twitter will be thinking twice before any other blunder, as US staff has done before US elections.
All things are symbolic but enough to put social media to walk on tight rope and not do any thing like they have done
