Turkey is not fully urbanized. There are still plenty of rural Turks having medieval beliefs. And not everyone in urban setting is liberal and secular Turks. There are enough of them out there who still have fantasies of Ottoman Empire 2.0. Otherwise how would this moron Erdogan win and be in power for almost 20 years now? Most of his supporters are religious Turks.Surprisingly, the population share of rural "turks" isn't exactly that big. Barring urban areas, Kurds take a huge portion too.
