95 euros million per plane. At what price ................?
Armaments will cost extra ofcourse.95 euros million per plane.
All the fixed costs have already been purchase with the first 36.
The Super Hornet already does everything the Rafale does at roughly half the cost, the SH is rated for 9G, limited by USN to 7.5 g by choice. Its AESA is best class, its weapons variety is best in class too, on any given day it flies more combat mission while being more thoroughly reliable. Rafale still has a long time before it can match the combat record of the SH. SH is possibly the most versatile 4.5 gen fighter 'today' while playing specific DEAD, buddy tanking, SEAD, EW roles, Anti ship roles, hefty bomb truck and satisfactory A2A roles with advanced targeting solutions while deploying among the widest set of weapons US arsenal. That already counts for a lot. It is also to cheaper to operate in the USN than the Rafale is for French Navy.A desesperate try....
SH18 is not a nice fighter. Just see its weight and how many load it can take ! it's limited to 7.5 G .... too poor. It only has a good and big radar. It's a flying radar in fact.
Now that India has paid for fix costs for Rafale, all new Rafale will only costs less than 100 €million. No space for another (anemic) medium plane.
Even (and mainly) on Carrier.
Bye bye Super Hornet (The "Super" was never merited)
Sorry, but what is electrical panel ??Boeing starts making India an Aerospace Power :: Bangalore manufactures FA-18s first Electrical Panel
Aerospace behemoth Boeing is getting a supply chain and the aerospace ecosystem ready as part of its proposal to the Ministry of defence to establish a modern production facility in the country to roll out advanced F/A-18 Super Hornets and next generation fighters best-suited for the next century, says Pratyush Kumar, president, Boeing India, and vice president of Boeing International.
On Thursday, Pratyush Kumar received the first electrical panel assembly manufactured for F/A-18 Super Hornets by Bengaluru-based SASMOS HET Technologies Limited as part of a multi-million dollar deal with the local small & medium enterprise.
“We will not wait for the decision or orders, but are getting the foundation ready and creating the most globally competitive supply chain in India. We have 30-odd direct and 130 indirect suppliers, and are looking at them to source components and systems (for F/A-18 Super Hornets).
Our philosophy is ground up, while others work on top down models,” he told to this newspaper. In view of MoD’s decision to scout for another fighter jet beyond the Rafale, Boeing’s proposal to roll out F/A-18 Super Hornets as part of the “Make in India” initiative now figures in government-to-government discussions.
“Today’s delivery of the critical electrical panel assembly is a seminal event for us. Most people will tell you we will do this or that, subject to getting orders,” he said.

Half the price? Never. 2013 price is nearly 67 $ millions. Rafale is 95 euros millions in 2016 (twin seater version). The Super Hornet already does everything the Rafale does at roughly half the cost, the SH is rated for 9G, limited by USN to 7.5 g by choice. Its AESA is best class, its weapons variety is best in class too, on any given day it flies more combat mission while being more thoroughly reliable. Rafale is better in some areas but it barely matches the SH in others.
Its a product for that company who makes it in India.Sorry, but what is electrical panel ??
How complex part it is ?
How much it cost ?
Can India sell BrahMos to any other countries without approval from original developer......................?Who has IP for this product ? Boeing ?
Can this Indian manufacturer supply this for any other fighter other Americans without approval from Boeing ?
Sir, if it is not half, still it is way cheaper.Half the price?
Never. 2013 price is nearly 67 $ millions.
French can have as much as they like.Rafale is 95 euros millions in 2016 (twin seater version).
Doesn't matter.Limited by USN to 7.5 G ????? It's a joke? If they are so confident in the BVR, they could reduce it to 2G, so as to have a infinite life duration......
And what to say of this so nice fighter, weigting 30% more than Rafale and taking 15% less weapon ?
Got the answer from this.. means Boeing gave the technology to assemble electric panel to this Indian entity.. basically to support their case for F18.Its a product for that company who makes it in India.
Can India sell BrahMos to any other countries without approval from original developer......................?
Can chotabhai sell Rafale parts to anybody who wants to buy it without approval from original developer......................?
BTW, that Indian company made such products for F-15 too, if I am not wrong.Got the answer from this.. means Boeing gave the technology to assemble electric panel to this Indian entity.. basically to support their case for F18.
Thanks.
Sir, still you got stuck at that 90 digit. The whole aircraft deal news seems to have gone cold, there was a time where you'd have news every week
It's been a long while since we had any news about the 90 MRCA aircraft.
Hoping it's at least the Super Hornet.
That's what we have 100% assurance of buying, maybe 100 if Boeing says it's the minimum for make in india order.Sir, still you got stuck at that 90 digit.
SH18 is worst than FA18.Sir, if it is not half, still it is way cheaper.
French can have as much as they like.
Doesn't matter.
Still people like it to have F/A-18s .
At-least you can find many here on DFI.
Never. If Boeing is chosen how long before we get the 1st aircraft post agreement signing?
