if you think of each defence procurement as a file, this file starting with DAC to tender moves across many people who put their signatures on it. if used properly, this application will give them visibility/transparency on which file is struck where. and over a period of time, give data on at which stage from a overall perspective these files are slowing down.

You design a platform around the engine. Not the other way around.

Order for Mk1A was given on 2021. Only an idiot would think that it was signed without keeping in mind the most important component. You don't sign a deal beforehand and then rush to the engine maker to find that production of the engine has been stopped.
Prototype of DATRAN engine was fired upon in 2023. In the mean time it has undergone test in two of the prototypes.

But we have to show our intelligence in online platform every time a news in dropped without even reading into history.

reminder that Arjun chassey and overall design characteristics were made for Leopard-2's 1500 bhp MTU MB 873 Ka-501 but weimerican arm-twisting and embargo on it resulted in us getting this alternative combo of 1400 bhp MTU MB 838 Ka-501 with Renk RK-304S transmission system - engine was originally meant for Leopard-1 upgrade program (some even say it was originally a truck engine 🤷‍♂️ ) and transmission was originally meant for M48 and M60 tanks upgrade program
thus we essentially got a less powerful and essentially a jugadu thing for our massive Leopard-2 like MBT here 🤷‍♂️
I believe the weimerican arm-twisting happened not because of engine but because of transmission system because same Renk HSWL-295 transmission system that went on with Leopard-2's MB-873 Ka-501 was also used in other NAFO tanks like Challenger-2, Leclerc, M1 Abrams (perhaps in future as some of these got developed etc) so they did not want us non-aligned soyjet lapdogs back then to get our hands on it or whatever

Mine is insufficient mobile artillery should I sit and cry that why are sigs being procured while IA have a comically small mobile arty pool ?

Ok!! Then wait for 4 years till the said engines arrive.

Or Develop your own with necessary changes.

Which will have no "Supply Chain" Issue.

Anyhow the timeline for both will be the same.

Go for indigenously developed engine which may be bit expensive or wait for Foreign Maal which will arrive when it arrives.

By the way who issue the order for jsut 118 ???

Same peanut orders been repeated by Import pasand Force across the board.

Be it Prachand, Arjun, ATGS, LCA.

Lucky enough the products are still been designed and developed and competing with foreign maals on their brochure spacs.

Because Army wants a 50 ton tank that provides the same protection as a 69 ton tank.
