I actually typed long reply to this. And then it's pointless. If some one criticizes our holy PSUs/DRDO, it will follow routine pattern. I will be either some clueless guy bad mouthing DRDO or some foreign shill. I will still try to reply.

America can make its own armour if there is demand. What can we do? Go for emergency purchase? I am not asking for 100% indigenous. It should be at least some 60%. At least half of the core components.

I think things would had moved faster had we gone with "joint partnership with embraer", right now no news about it.

Not fully yet ,but badhuria sir has done a great job as iaf cheif .

Onus is not just on iaf , drdo has to perform as well .

Now they are on right trajectory in missile segment , tejas mk2 will decide our fate in fightrr jet.

Next gen ships if packed with indigenous system will cut down our imports and will be easier to upgrade .

ATAGS was developed in just 30 months. MK1A in just 30 months.
CGLM was developed in 12 months. pinaka MK2 was developed under 20 months.

DRDO even offered NGMBT with an fighter aircraft type cockpit. a tejas styled cockpit for a battle tank.
why else do you think ADA chief was there in 2018 seminar of combat vehicles.

but army said F off to DRDO.
infact its less army LOBBYING and more OFB LOBBYING.

you see, any govt to govt deal involves TOT to only OFB since OFB is under MOD.

even in ATHOS vs ATAGS, its OFB vs DRDO. here army is a bit innocent

in 2017, OFB tendered for some high quality german parts but brought chinese parts with german stickers on them. so basically high cost tender. get more money from MOD to buy stuff. but buy low quality stuff and rest in the pockets. thats how scams work in govt tendering processes. starting from corruption in procuring bricks and cement and thar for highways to defence products. one employee revelead to police about this OFB danush scam in 2017 and he was killed by some other OFB baaboos. CBI was brought in for investigation.

even in the case of T-14, OFB gets to manufacture them with TOT.
why else do you think we got T-72 B turned into T-90S instead of T-90A turned into T-90S.
why else do you think russian T-90S got sold for higher price to us than those procured by syria.
almost 30% more per each tank.

in the case of T-14, all OFB needs to do is to get the DGMF on their side. because DGMF has the final authority to decide a tank.

so its not army that mainly lobbies.
its OFB that lobbies with army baaboos and ruskies.

thats why we get AK-103 renamed as indian version AK-203, while the tender is for original AK-203.
OFB gets to manufacture them. while the army baaboo that decided for this idea also gets some along with ruskies that are ok with this.

but mudi and ninda-nath singh stopped it. that's why that deal is still going on.

this is classical case business,putting your rival down for your advantage,even DRDO did that,there were few reports AFAIK that DRDO does not want private firms to enter into unmanned combat aerial vehicle R&D on their own,however DRDO makes some good quality stuff while OFB always produces junks.
even for lobbying OFB-okay good,but then produce good quality stuff na?like DRDO does,OFB deserves bad mouthings given to it,
