I am like 200% sure this is not a programmable round or even a proximity fuze round, you will need a very high degree of miniaturisation for making such a time+proximity fuze. Hell, we don't even manufacture any kind of proximity fuze for 30mm. So basically this new round is half part of puzzle, pre fragmentation is good but thinking that you'll fire a tons of bullets at a target, let's say that bullets have a circle of spread of some 5m from target, then only those bullets hitting target will explode and form a cloud. While the bullets having smart fuze will all explode around target and form a cloud of fragments. I believe I need not tell which will be much effective.

One can easily imagine that this is not a suboptimal solution at all let let alone a optimal one.

Plus you will need an ak 630 to have its own fire control system and somekind of muzzle velocity reader and fire control data input system maybe some induction type system. Not so easy to make a good anti swarm system and EEL surely doesn't have any experience with making fuzes.

In meanwhile Russians seem to have made a very compact smart fuze for its 23mm aa guns, literally breathing new life in ZU-23s. Next level of miniaturisation indeed.

Good news is TOT for PPF has been provided by DRDO to couple of pvt companies for 40mm rounds. The one displayed for AK630 is a prototype. In my recent interaction with one of the development partner, fuze has already undergone many tests. Its the modification requirement in gun with programmer unit which is undergoing as of now.
And some good news for rotary canon fans. One is coming in JV.

There are many systems which has been ordered or are in use. But no news has been published.

I know of atleast X number of units in LAC equipped with them. But if you want the complete brigade to be equipped like that, its not going to happen. Nowhere and no-one does that.

brigade consists of non combative people too. That's why i used word only combative as in who shall be in thick of action. Thanks much. We should be able to do night operations more freely.

So you are saying that Drdo has developed a programmable proximity fuze for 40mm as well as this new prototype for 30mm.
Again I want to confirm that it is a fuze like 3P or AHEAD with multiple modes and not a simple proximity fuze like already manufactured by ofb

Recent AD guns tender also differentiate between both and has asked for only the former one for their guns.
Although haven't seen much infor regarding this, if true than that's a huge win🫡

NVG is on issue to every infantry man in the US Army. EVERY single soldier has a dual tube NVG sight.

I am talking about PPF here. Not the OFB proximity fuse for 155 mm shells.

Not DRDO, I am talking about a JV with foreign OEM. Seen the videos of the gun, but since its not inhouse design, didn't asked for more on it.

I know, I've heard every recruit must qualify shooting targets out to 150 meters minimum in the dark in their boot camp and it's been the case since 2009-10 or so.
