Our air defence and 4th+ gen fighter strength will be very good but we need drone swarm... more and more drones and low cost sjort range cruise missiles.

Few years back everyone knew drones will have impacts in wars and they had critical impact in Ukraine and Armenia. But our babus are waiting for another '27th Feb' to mass produce drones like following

Actually, this system is bad. Instead, better to have a more distributed system, which is the basis for successful drone warfare.

By putting all eggs in one basket, this thing can be destroyed by single drone itself.

They said initially that Nirbhay will be our first subsonic low flying cruise missike, desi Tomahawk. After repeated failure it became TD. Soon Tapas will also become TD. MoD must fund private companies to develop bigger UCAVs and drone swarms. In the line of Turkey.

Drones like Kizilelma which going to make first flight soon, in the hand of PAF will be nightmare for IA/IAF. While FUFA will go through all sorts of tests like winter test, summer test, rain test, sun test, moon test, underwater test, approvals thn various lengthy design reviews, AON, RFI, RFP, CCS, BCCI, LGBTQ and many other approvals.

Calm down. The Kizilelma has already been flying for awhile now.

Wahh. Thanks. Where is FUFA? Last I heard our scientists and babus are thinking about it in IIT Kanpur lab. Now they might be having 1000s of studies and chai sessions while the actual project might be moving in snails speed like AURA/Ghatak.

DRDO is researching on AURA/Ghatak for last 15 years. Still there is no prototype forget first flight.

This is field drone swarm, it will be very useful in theatre wars.

Arre you are not getting the point.

The advantage of drones is that they dont need much infra to launch and are hard to hit. If you put a lot of them permanently on a truck, it can be easily destroyed all at once. Better to have 10 launchers with 50 drones dristributed between them.

Also about drone swarms, most people just jump at the term insted of actually understanding it. The main use is in increasing survivability, faster recon of large areas, and foliage penetration etc. Most of the time, single drones are better than a swarm.

LR-LACM is it's successor and will see operational service.

This has been the case since decades & it has really gotten to the point where MoD ought to be looking at whether we need a lab like ADE with the kind of track record it possesses or its better we shut it down & distribute its staff among other labs including the work load.

Same as if Mig-21 of Abhinandan would have been a Kizilelma!

Anyway, it an fighter aircraft which stealthy and not manned. Its job will be initial raids on our airfields and arms depots etc followed by manned fighters. With a manned fighter there is a risk of pilots life.

As per the Project team, they conducted 8 test flights with specified and limited mission parameters. All 8 tests were successful
