Hate these cryptic tweets
Bas channel challana hai
Forget these handles
Recently news handles gave an imaginary number of 97 that has to be procured but now it will enter into new set of trails to fulfill requirements which it wasn't able to for many years during testing by ade
Now tapas was only way to deal with growing Chinese and Pakistani drone fleets and capability now that being shelved we will have only 30 gold plated mq-9 for their 100s of male drones in future
Even cheetah update is seen nowhere except articles popping out everytime that cheetah is very close to clearance but how close we dont know

Ok so tapas will be thrown into dustbin for gold-plated mq-9
Now let's see how much gold-plated mq-9 will be procured
There were no plans for weaponizing Tapas. Military is pushing Reaper as the do-all platform. And it's working apparently. The new twin boom drone will spend time in development.

So will they be able to procure 97 mq-9
I can't see that
Moreover tapas could have been upgraded with limited weapon carrying role although it has been built for surveillance mainly
Just another mrfa sort situation being created before our eyes
Then people will say why a nation like India can't develope a male drone

yup, no need to hurry on weaponising tapas right away. Might as well user fly it for a prolonged period of time, gain confidence in the platform and sort out kinks they will find after induction.

advantage of having own platform is that, OEM can take their time to sort things out.

it’s not like we have a expeditionary defence doctrine, where OEM is on the clock to get the product ready before the next regional conflict kicks in for export sales.

i mean linux mint had a maya named version. But linux mint is not India based.
No this is based on Ubuntu
To be fair they should have gone with Linux distro instead of Ubantu, as Ubantu is becoming windows in tracking and all other things only saving is it is on Linux, instead of Ubantu they could have picked Linux distribution and build on it, then we would have gradually moved to our own independent OS system.

@rone any opinion on this?

We have been trying to use our own flavors for past many decades, but they all are quietly ditched - I guess with every hardware upgrades. Last time there was one Bharat Operating System Solutions (BOSS based on Debian Linux).
