Sauce for similar XR-SAM and SLCM posters please.
Also, before VL-SRSAM, it was Project Maitri and before that it was Project Trishul. And after Maitri was also stopped, this 2015 news report about Maitri's revival came out and it does mention SRSAM:-
India revives joint missile project with French firm
Even as the indigenous surface-to-air missile Akash has failed to inspire enough confidence for deployment on Indian Navy ships, the government has asked the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to engage with the French firm MBDA missile systems for development of short-range...www.dnaindia.com
So it seems you are right about it being called SRSAM long before Astra was picked for the job. But then why are we seeing DRDO put up 7 year old posters in DefExpo22? Saw the same thing with Prahaar poster. They posted the range of 150km when we know they are working on the 200 km Pranash now. So confusing this DefExpo is.
Some corrections here, the pic of 15km range is not from Defexpo at all, it's some pic some guys from Twitter probably got from somewhere a while ago. Now, observe that the data for XRSAM is different below, so which one is correct I don't know, And remember that the data for taking down AWACS was 350km when drdo mistakenly released it on their websiteSauce for similar XR-SAM and SLCM posters please.

I think something related to LR was mentioned in the Science Reporter Magazine.Don't think there is any nasm lr ..its only SR and MR
Yes based on Alpha's video, there is a program to build a Mach 6 capable, 3000km range anti-ship missile. Was there any such program?
I only read about NASM-LR but nothing about LRAShM. Is it similar to AGM-158C or a derivative of STAR?
Search for Trishul, maitri missiles pgrms.View attachment 177420
We know this is an official drdo project related pic, similiar pics were there for xrsam and slcm which are drdo projects.
I think this is a VLSRSAM proposal long ago then dubbed as SRSAM considering that no government approval was accorded then and they were still considering to put either IIR or RF seeker.
A lot could have happened in between and VLSRSAM was born and tested. Initial range of SRSAM is given as greater than 15km so who knows what is VLSRSAM range as I don't think Astra base was even chosen by then. Though ranges of 25-30km sounds most probable or maybe even 40km if they took dual pulse version of Astra as base.
Or I could be all wrong together and this is a new SAM project.
Maybe brahmos 800km or agni p based AShBM.Was there any such program?

Agni P based 2500km, AShBM. [my guess].Yes based on Alpha's video, there is a program to build a Mach 6 capable, 3000km range anti-ship missile.
MFSTAR can see a sea skimming VLO missile at about 35-36 kms.Funny thing is, mfstar only see sea skimming target less than 25 km, now add vlo & near hypersonic speed, .5 km min increases chances of interception. Its not about Kamikaze drones, but about 1 billion ship.
Will the S-band MFSTAR work along with the X-band radar which is underdevelopment. As there was information that this radar is under fabrication for VL-SRSAM.MFSTAR can see a sea skimming VLO missile at about 35-36 kms.
More importantly than that, it automatically classifies new radar objects, gives them priority and initiates track. XO's nod and Barak 8 is out in as little as 2 secs. Have seen it done in tests
Then it will be a shore based missile similar to SMART which is also shore based.Agni P based 2500km, AShBM. [my guess].
The working together part is with the CMS, so yeahWill the S-band MFSTAR work along with the X-band radar which is underdevelopment. As there was information that this radar is under fabrication for VL-SRSAM.
If both will work together then it will provide better coverage from any incoming threats.
All naval radars and in general radars do the classification and picks the highest priority target.....it would be good to know its p-values at 0.5km interceptionMFSTAR can see a sea skimming VLO missile at about 35-36 kms.

Which is?I am surprised nobody is talking about today's biggest news
