That was for the DRDO Light Tank, when DRDO proposed engine commonality for both the WhAP and Light Tank.

“There was a proposal to IA with Regards to its light tank.
If they use 600 HP engine on light tank it will bring commonality with TATA kestrel. 600 HP to 24T tank yielding 25HP/Ton.
Army just changed its power/weight ratio to 30HP/Ton”.

Use T-72 engine if needed.. in any case the 24/25 tonne criteria won't be matched

imo at one place there will be at max 2 tel = 12 interceptors.

Not just that , the missile could be more compact , we have progressed much more in terms of propulsion tech after this

have to consider the type of kill vehicle as well, the "slim" ones like barak 8 which is half the diameter to AAD uses proximity fuse. where as AAD is a hit to kill designed to take on incoming BM with warhead itself weighing 1000 kg or more.
