Yup, it is finally here, an OFB AD gun design. If you look carefully, these are just twin ruski 30mm 2a42 cannons already license manufactured by OfB. Traverse and elevation mechanism seem to be based/copy of 40mm L70 gun. No EO FCS on this as of now.
Now we know there is no smart ammo like ahead or 3p for this gun ammo i.e. 30*165mm even by the ruskies. So why the hell would OFB guys make this shit. This crap doesn't even qualifies the QRs in AD gun requirement where smart ammo was prime requirement. Atleast this is not like that land based ak630 truck based ciws abomination. And good luck with OFB even manufacturing high end systems like ahead and 3p ammo. As far as I know they haven't made any smart ammo of any kind so far. Hope we had NAMMO of our own
Here is your OFB, making weapons to fight tomorrow's war with yesterday's weapons.

But but it has a stealthy shape, may be it has separate c&c unit controlling several guns, just a hope against hope.

According to @porky_kicker there is an EOFCS, but is not shown in the picture.
Yeah, but this is plain stupid when the primary requirement of smart ammo won't be met, this is OFB we are talking about.
If it was made by ARDE then perhaps there would have been a hope for ahead/3p like ammo.
This is just money being wasted. More funny is that I see OFB touting it as state of the art tech.

A wikipedia entry says the Russians are assisting somewhat in developing the Ramjet engine on the SFDR, though it's a totally Indian project. What are the challenges in developing a Ramjet engine? Lay people would know that there is no oxygen tank or oxidiser on board the Ramjet rocket, it uses atmospheric oxygen to ignite the propellant. DRDO has a fully developed and qualified Ramjet engine for the Akash missile series. What hurdles had to be overcome there?

Since our news media doesn't innovate, some of the themes are of old WW2 western format. in return our journos and editors don't have to use their brains while reporting on defence. use the same sentences and get away without having to report any useful information.
