That explains why ~6000 people were evacuated on 7th Dec.India successfully test fires cluster munitions version of Pinaka rocket. Each rocket has 234 bomblets and will be used for area suppression strikes against enemy troop/vehicle concentrations.
All versions of Pinaka (Mk1, Mk2 and guided Pinaka) can be equipped with this warhead.
I don’t think porkis matter to us anyway, talking about chinks then its the same almost, most of their “rockets” having hundreds of kilometres of range are small ballistic missiles. How does the pinaka compare to the rocket artilerry porkis and chinks use?
Their artillery have higher ranger, is it similar to prahar which we never implemented? I mean procured.I don’t think porkis matter to us anyway, talking about chinks then its the same almost, most of their “rockets” having hundreds of kilometres of range are small ballistic missiles.
Chinese are way ahead of us in rocket artillery. They have every kind of rocket artillery with all kind of warhead you can think of. They even have 300/400 km range MLRS. And about the pakis, well what china have they can have it tooHow does the pinaka compare to the rocket artilerry porkis and chinks use?
Now that we have clustered warhead an Indian cluster bomb is not far away.India successfully test fires cluster munitions version of Pinaka rocket. Each rocket has 234 bomblets and will be used for area suppression strikes against enemy troop/vehicle concentrations.
All versions of Pinaka (Mk1, Mk2 and guided Pinaka) can be equipped with this warhead.
Those 300-400 km ranges weapons are all proper rockets calling them artillery is just chinese subterfuge.Chinese are way ahead of us in rocket artillery. They have every kind of rocket artillery with all kind of warhead you can think of. They even have 300/400 km range MLRS. And about the pakis, well what china have they can have it too
But still they couldn't save themselves from the Japanese lol. I bet nearly half of Chinese are product of rape just like porkis.Chinese are way ahead of us in rocket artillery. They have every kind of rocket artillery with all kind of warhead you can think of. They even have 300/400 km range MLRS. And about the pakis, well what china have they can have it too
But still,, how come we dont have any system close to those ranges? Even countries like Brazil has themThose 300-400 km ranges weapons are all proper rockets calling them artillery is just chinese subterfuge.
We are developing a whole range of those systems from pralay / prahar / pranash etc .But still,, how come we dont have any system close to those ranges? Even countries like Brazil has them
This is true still it doesn't matter if they can mass produce them in numbers, one vehicle can fire 8 of them in a matter of 1 minute. Those 300-400 km ranges weapons are all proper rockets calling them artillery is just chinese subterfuge.
Army still seems to be in gunners mindset era and only tube artillery guns are prioritised. Rocket artillery has really not been appreciated by IA. Just imagine the number of strike opportunities open ranging from wherever between 70km to 300/400km well past the tube artillery. This is true still it doesn't matter if they can mass produce them in numbers, one vehicle can fire 8 of them in a matter of 1 minute.
A300 system is probably one of the best ones with 300km range, good cep. There's also A100 and its variants some of which even pakis have procured. A300 has two stages.
MRAD = Barak 1 based interceptorIf you guys have noticed that Israel has moved to system called Barak MX with visible design changes than the Indian Barak 8. They are marketing the MX version with MRAD,LRAD and ER versions and there is no mention of Barak 8 on IAI site.A few questions here-
1) Why they changed the design??
2) Can we market the Barak 8 in the same way as they market their Barak MX, which is an offshoot of Barak 8. If not then we really need have done something stupid. For people who say its for Indian consumption only, please exports are equally important.
3) Can we further indigenize Barak 8 with Indian seekers and others. Well Israelis certainly have their Baraks made all inhouse and do not seems to uphold the spirit of JV.
I mean why should India play the nice guy when other party is not following the same.
4) What about the range of current Barak 8, various sources say different ranges from 70km to 90km, any official sources??
Any plans for range extension to 120km, which was heard a few years back.
Note:- don't compare this with Russia. Brahmos JV where p 800 oniks was already developed and brahmos was offshoot which gave logical right to Russians to market their oniks separately from brahmos whereas Barak was made from scratch for both Israelis and Indians and as such should follow the JV spirit.
Noob mistake you made sir. Just see that airframe is completely different. Israelis themselves classify Barak MX as different from Barak 8. Maybe same seeker and propulsion.MRAD = Barak 1 based interceptor
LRAD = Barak 8
Barak ER = Barak 8 ER
A recent Sourav Jha article looked into details of India's upcoming rocket artillery force. So it's definitely in the works.Army still seems to be in gunners mindset era and only tube artillery guns are prioritised. Rocket artillery has really not been appreciated by IA. Just imagine the number of strike opportunities open ranging from wherever between 70km to 300/400km well past the tube artillery.
With Ins/gps combo, a respectable cep can be achieved easily. Not only that you can also use same launcher to house small cruise missile or tactical ballistic missile like us himars/m270. Fire a rocket launched UAV for quick recon, jamming rockets, saturate enemy air defenses, why not use SEAD rockets.
Chinese In these systems are the best as of now, no two takes about it. In starting hours, I hope our forces are ready to be hammered by these systems, there really is no perfect counter for them.
Yup chinese are good at numbers. But they also have much bigger budget. We need to get the best bang for our money so we need to iron out all issues before building numbers .This is true still it doesn't matter if they can mass produce them in numbers, one vehicle can fire 8 of them in a matter of 1 minute.
