no I don’t think it will be added to ships with Barak 8Will this be added to ships with barak 8?
And act as a replacement for ships with barak 1?
Interesting, they(LRDE) seem quite confident that Su-30MKI and Mig-29K will be upgraded with the UTTAM AESA Radar.India develops AESA radar to make IAF fighters more lethal
Project director D Seshagiri of Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE) confirmed this and said that the developed AESA radar is 95% indigenous, with only one imported subsystem.www.hindustantimes.com
if they have to scale radar of mwf then how much time will it take ??Interesting, they(LRDE) seem quite confident that Su-30MKI and Mig-29K will be upgraded with the UTTAM AESA Radar.
Not much timeif they have to scale radar of mwf then how much time will it take ??
1 yr ?
Not much time
Uttam mk2 GaAs will be ready sooner than people expect
MWF radome is going to be smaller then mk1a . So technically radar would be bit smaller in size but would still pack more TRM and be more Powerful .if they have to scale radar of mwf then how much time will it take ??

Soon we might need Brahmos worthy Flankers for our western seaboard too given the rate Pak Navy is growing
you mean beyond the 40 something that already exist ?Soon we might need Brahmos worthy Flankers for our western seaboard too given the rate Pak Navy is growing
Yes, they're based out of TN I guess- so I am assuming their primary focus will be Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean. Plus taking into account the Ruski aircraft availability. Pakis get a relatively free hand in the Arabian sea(although Navy is there) but AF sorties will keep the positive pressure aliveyou mean beyond the 40 something that already exist ?
Can mirages carry brahmos?Yes, they're based out of TN I guess- so I am assuming their primary focus will be Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean. Plus taking into account the Ruski aircraft availability. For a 7 inch hot launch missile, this cannister size is OK.Still single packed, waste a ton of space for a short range air defense.... I guess we would have quad pack version in the vls being developed to launch all indian naval missiles. Any idea how many missiles to be fitted onboard ships... 16 or 32?
No, only a batch of 40 Flankers were modified (structurally) to carry Brahmos. Mirage is a pretty small jet in size, hardly think so. Even Rafales cannot carry the current variant of Brahmos. (Existing brahmos can carry a Tejas on its center pylon)Can mirages carry brahmos?
Jaguar with harpoons are already there to take care of few capital ships porky navy has. Also even a coastal battery of bramhos can anywhere in porkystani waters not much need for su30mki launched bramhos.Soon we might need Brahmos worthy Flankers for our western seaboard too given the rate Pak Navy is growing
perhaps 15% of inventory is good enough, rest is upto IAF to manage logistics. This is why IAF conducted Gagan Shakti to validate these things.Yes, they're based out of TN I guess- so I am assuming their primary focus will be Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean.
