Both, Battery pack is placed there as a counterweight.
Hey is this true or is ajai shukla farting again

About 20-30 per cent of the MRSAM has been developed by the DRDO, including the missile’s propulsion system that is based on a sophisticated dual-pulse rocket motor, its thrust vector controls, and electrical harness (wiring).

IAI has designed and developed 70-80 per cent of the MRSAM, including the Elta MF-STAR radar, which forms the heart of the system.

MR-SAM is Airforce variant of Israeli Barak-8.

He's correct, only the warhead and dual pulse motor are desi, rest- radar, seeker and the eccm systems are by Rafael. IN inducted an off the shelf product from Israel, IAF is using a slightly indigenised version of it. But this is due to the fact that it was procured by a Kalyani-Rafael JV and such were the terms, not because of a capability handicap. Seeker and radar have been developed by drdo for the missiles quite some time back, eccm nobody comments on, and dual pulse rocket motor is something that was a part of Astra mk2 development.

DRDO RCI Ka-band seeker (credit @Karthi ):

The only application I know of that uses Ka band seekers is Endo-atmospheric BMD interceptors. Which means this is for AAD missile. Now, I've found some news that says there is a "Ka ARS Mk-II" seeker in very advanced stages of integration. Not sure if AAD has flown since this news, anybody got any info? Is this new seeker AESA?

@Abdus Salem killed to be noted in the above.... as of now. He explained very well.

Our standard procedure is to induct now & then later replace the subsystems with Indian versions.

I belive we wont get any problem in Freqquency selective and stealthy airframe materials.

Meh... Most of them are rubberised nowadays, a full rubber belt reinforced with steel wire & mesh.
I can definitely see the military trucks towing or mounted with guns or MLRS being much more effective with them.

Plus it completely does away with the 6×6 mechanisms, just drive-sprocket connected at the front with engine.
:):):)

You are just missing out the whole point of HMV here. Regarding the other disadvantages, lets leave them aside as of now.

What would that be, other than transportation of mounted weaponary to off-road positions? 😕
A tracked truck would be anything but Highly Mobile.

Tracked trucks do have specialized use, but these don't include Highly Mobile vehicles.

Ok no offence, but that's a bigger one than your theory of F414 for Mark1A 😑 I think there's a price issue involved.. Or the tracked makes turning mechanism complex..... but both are quite unlikely given history of half tracks etc. and I think it's noone has simply tried it out.

10 years later we could be mooning over them as futuristic tech as if they have fallen right off Allah's arsehole
