So 3000+ guns are being procured..so can anyone break up the numbers for me..

Current numbers are

1580 towed

814 mounted

200 wheeled (probably cancelled or to be clubbed with tracked)

100 tracked (Samsung K9 won the tender)

145 ULH i.e M777 (400 as possible follow on)

Our arty is being expanded massively the numbers for 155 tube arty by 2030-35 should be something like this
2000 ATAGS consideringa production run of 100/annum each between 2020-2030 from both BF & Tata lines.
~500 Dhanush 155/45/52 from OFB
145 M777 + 300 ULWH from Bharat Forge(This will come)
814 Truck mounted guns
100+100 K9( I reiterate there wil be a 2nd line)
last 100 FH-77b on it's way out
200-300 M-46 upgraded to 155 cal on it's way out
some 3500 guns in service & another ~400 in reserve/ being transferred to BSF/being scrapped.
194 medium regiments the IFG/LFG regiment number should remain static!

Why still LGF...it has less range...and how many MLRS would be active by that time

the IA loves the good old IFG/LFG it's the AK-47 of arty . works anywhere 7 is dirt cheap to maintain & use.
Easy to train on as well.
the LFG/IFG is also being upgraded wiht the help of Bharat forge. the upgraded gun has a range of 24km as compared to 17 km for the regular one.

The ATAGS is the world’s only gun with a six-round “automated magazine”, which lets it fire a six-round burst in just 30 seconds.

Bofors FH77A can fire 6 rounds in 25 seconds as claimed in Wikipedia. Can Dhanush fire as many rounds since it is a modern version of Bofors?

In sustain fire mode FH77A fire 6 rnds in 25 seconds, Otherwise its 4 rnds in 31 seconds, Its same for dhanush and FH-77B..

The ATAGS fires 60 rounds in 60 minutes in the “sustained fire” mode ..

Dhanush is 155/45 calibre improved Bofors, whereas ATAGS is 155/52 calibre new design.
SPG is totally different tech and can't be compared with operational equivalence of TAG.

Nothing Indian in this context. We are developing only Russian and Italian version of cannons even for our Naval force.

Yes, there is. Among naval purposes, ASAT roles & army.
Indian Navy has included it in plan 2031 and there was a research paper about it published on BR.
