Sorry to come across as being negative, but a new forum without DFI’s pure-gold data will be DOA. Data is what will drive revenue. Every attempt must be made in securing it legally with the current owner(s).

I am not sure if old data is that important. No one goes back and looks at old posts anyway. It is just nice to have.
And that too only some stuff like that @asaffronladoftherisingsun chap used to post. (May have gotten spelling of name wrong). He left to get married IIRC

Just get the site up and running. Get the domain name if possible, else use a new one (though not ideal)

Bharat Rakshak discussion forum disappeared this weekend. Their website has been revamped with discussion forum gone.

If closure is a government issue, any new site, if it has discussion forum will face similar issues. Perhaps this should be the starting point for those who are thinking of setting up a new forum.

You wont want Doval’s boys knocking on your door at 2am (if you live in India).

Just returned after checking BRF. Discussion Board is on & working fine. People have posted as late as today. What's the brouhaha all about ?

What's the data size of the entire DFI website ?

I read some Xenforo folks talking that it's 250 GB for 1 million posts. DFI has 3.2 million.
My calculation was some Terabytes but it seems it they have different mechanism of storage.

I will scrap just the text if I Have to something is better than nothing
Besides haven't tried HTTP track and mirroring option.
I will start working from Tuesday on this.

We must get the site up by 30 th of this month.

I'll send 60$ before that.
Money won't be a issue 1000 $ will be up in no time.
